I don’t practice, but I work in the field doing something I like (helping veterans). I am sure your wife is doing a whole lot better than me, that’s awesome. In her case, the debt was worth it. Mine was borderline worth it, I make good money but not enough to pay back $300k. I am ok with my choice, it got me doing what I’m doing.

Who’s all in the crypto? Used to have about 10k of profits but once it plummeted I barely broke even and sold out. Now it’s past 13k

I'm in with what I consider "house money".
I bought in a bit before ATH Dec. '17.
When my money doubled, I pulled out the original investment. Watched what was left get decimated. It's now back to about 1/3 of what it was.

    You mean 2.51?

Never mind I stand corrected. Odd that Marcus has reduced while Wealthfront went up to 2.57. Might move my money over.

My neighbor told me about the Citibank MM account (3% plus bonus), I need to look into that also.

Going into debt for college is rarely a good bet. There is usually another way (scholarships/grants/military) or another school (cheaper). That said, I have paid about $250k for my older son's education. I wanted to provide this for him and was blessed to do so. He is also starting on a journey that has an ROI for that investment. He has been recruited by Deloitte and will have his CPA. He will be set for success and the rest is up to him.

The interst on the truck is a sure bet that you'll have to pay for.
The gains that you could make are not a sure bet and you could possibly lose money by holding.

Dividends are a sure bet. I’m not talking about gains.

I am talking about Blue Chips who either raised or continued their dividend through the last financial crisis. It’s as predictable as income can be, the same every month or quarter. In my opinion that’s more of a sure bet than a salary from a job.

This article has 11 companies with 55+ year dividend streaks, that makes for a more secure income than any job: https://www.google.com/amp/s/amp.ki...tocks-55-years-payout-growth-aristocrats.html

This is why I am debt hater.

The more shit I leverage the less income I can use to generate wealth.
The largest part (I think) of building wealth in investments is consistent investing over your working lifetime. Consistent.
Its hard to do that when you’ve got payments on this and that and you can’t consistently invest (or worse you borrow off your 401k or cash it out) because you have to stop contributions to cover emergencies.

Those people I know who I have found to be very successful with money live well below their means and avoid debt. Most wealthy people I know live the middle class lifestyle and you’d never assume they make $200k plus a year.

To all bitcoin-curious people. I have reason to believe bitcoin is a good short term investment through the weekend. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency topics spiked big on google trends yesterday. It takes about 5 days to get money on these exchanges, so there will be a delay in price spike. The BTC price, as well as total crypto market cap, is rising from the the little flash crash a couple days ago. To anyone looking for short term gains, who has money they can gamble with - not money they cant afford to loose - this is not a bad time to toss in a hundred bucks and set an automatic sell for... oh maybe 15-20% gains. This is super risky. This is what I'm doing, and I expect to see my position sell shortly before the 4th. Proceed with caution. Hopefully everyone can appreciate that investing in crypto is not sound investment advice, and nor is day trading. This is for fun. Please keep it that way.

In the spirit of full transparency. For fun only, I took a 100$ position and bought into BTC at 11,600, and I set a sell for 13,900.01. We shall see what a little booze and promises of making millions does between now and the 4th.
