X2! Great time to invest for the long haul. I was waiting for a pull back to invest quite a bit I've been forgetting to sweep in.

I checked my 401k index about halfway through the day, it was stuck on -1.88%... maybe the fund managers pulled out before it could lose any more for the day. I would be surprised if that was the case

Everyone, don’t be an idiot and try to call bottom. You are not smart enough to be correct on the bottom. Let the knife fall and once changes direction, then buy. You don’t need to buy right at the bottom.

Just a PSA since I see so many “rookies” ( even experienced rookies) buying too soon and become bagholders.

The last time there was a market shakeup due to fears of interest rate hikes, I think the market lost something like 20-30%

Well there’s support at 22k, next stop would be 18k so that’d be the 30% mark at that support.

Looks like today was shorts covering ( which makes sense since the past 2 days there was a significant drop in stock prices) seeing as the move back to the plus side had no conviction.

I guesstimate more pain coming later this week. I’m still on the sidelines in all cash.

Im mostly talking about long term balanced mutual funds instead of individual stocks. If you are playing the long game then any pull back is a good time to invest. It's not so much as trying to buy at the absolute bottom right now and more at trying to buy in during a dip.

Otherwise I invest the same amount more or less like clockwork each month and take the emotions out of it. Some months may be up, some may be down, but over the 20+ years it equates to steady growth unless something crazy happens, which would have to be bigger than even today.

good plan.. could just be a rest period before going down again. Definitely teetering on the top of the fence right now.. could go either way. Very choppy trading day. So far so good on CHK and WPRT though. I've been watching ROKU for a while, but I don't understand its movements yet

Yeah if today’s gains for the market hold tomorrow, it’ll be time to buy. If they drop, stay on the sidelines.

If some of these big blue chips have good earning reports, I bet it'll be okay tomorrow

I’m looking at F since it’s at a long time low and the 5.5%+ dividend ( they give a annual bonus dividend that’s on top of that 5.5% dividend too). Just buy and hold long term.

AMD and GAIN ( this has a nice monthly dividend and a bonus dividend too) are others to grab and hold long term. Set it and forget it!

    Good mixture in various industries.

Look at CIM it pays12%. I only buy stocks that pay dividends.

CHK still falling. Now because of margin calls. Yay. Caught a falling knife. Also doesn't help that oil is down 3% today

Some at 3.09, some at 2.95. Trying to buy the dip and sell on a dead cat bounce
