Bought a few shares (just a few) in UWT before close. Total gamble, only a little to lose. Rest of it waiting to redeploy. No idea what else is good rn.

 

its still weirds me out that when most equities are doing the volatile yo-yo stuff and there is one you have holding that is staying put
'most of the time' that leads to higher gains for that particular one whenever the overall market finds the bottom and starts turning but 'not all the time'

 

Which equity is that?

 

sorta staying put i should say, its still near where it was in mid january
MNTA, (a small pharma) i have had some (very small because of its market cap) for a long time, its been decent to buy some sell some in a range for more than 10 years
i definitely do not rec buying any here where its at unless you are a speculator for a short-term move (it has negative eps and no pe ratio)
one of these days the big pharma could do buyout, surprised it has not happened in all this time.

 

WTF caused the late rally?

 

My thinking before it even happened was, "if I sell all my inverse positions, which are basically just fancy shorts, will that cause a short covering rally?" and then it started happening and I was like "shiiiiit better sell now"

But who knows if that was the cause. Or just more opportunistic dip buying. Or both.

 

Hmmmm I wonder if that's what it was. People buying shorts

The coronavirus panic is dumb

actually at these prices some airlines look good especially if oil is going lower. You have to look at their dept to holding ratio. Some companies can deal with it if Travel is cut for a few months some can't

 

I found the reason for the rally. It came out at the same time as the rally

 

nice dividend you have there, it would be a shame if someone it.

 

Probibly 3months after this all settles down LOL!! Most of the people I talk to view a 3hr car drive the same as being waterboarded.

Once this becomes "normal" people will be back flying again. What will really be interesting is to see how workplaces and tradeshows change. I mean really tradeshows are nothing more than an excuse for sales people to go get drunk on the company dime in a city away from their wives/husbands/kids. In 2020 they are just about worthless. It will be interesting to see what companies start embracing
work from home/remote office options that didnt before all this.

 

Amen to the WFH thing. Hopefully this ends up warming some people up to the idea.

 

I'm looking at Starbucks, Disney, and Transdigm group. Starbucks needs to come down a little more from fridays close but Disney and Transdigm is down almost 20%

 

I jumped on Disney when they were a little down this week. I’ve been eyeing Starbucks but as you I think it needs to come down a little more before I jump on it.

 

Disney is a good long term play. But I imagine their theme parks and especially the cruise line are going to be hit hard this year.

Me too. I have a few limit orders placed hoping for evern cheaper prices.

 

bought DIS right before the streaming launch. bought more earlier this week at the $120 range. hopefully our transfer into the account posts soon and we can buy more.
