I put in another order for ccl, but it turned direction pretty quickly. Oh well.

 

TRTX, RUTH, and NCLH

 

I just did market orders not limit orders. I should probably do those instead, but oh well - as mentioned, my long term goal is hold it forever and get the dividends too. So, if I'm off a few cents today, not the end of the world.

 

My NCLH filled, but CCL and TRTX didn’t.

 

I just expected it to keep tanking this morning honestly.

I also plan to keep these until it starts to get up to the 40 range.

 

Fair, I might duck out when they recover, or just keep a small position on them. I should look at TRTX soon though

 

I'd be careful with HAL, oil services are 100% losers with low oil prices. Used to work at BKR and they are struggling big time with low oil prices. 75% of the division I was in has been laid off and its not going to come back anytime soon, within a month I bet 90%+ of the unit will be gone. If you want oil industry exposure go with the big boys who will buy up the small companies and survive with healthy-ish books (XOM, BP, CVX, RDSAF).

Agreed. I do hold ENB, a Canadian midstream company, but they aren’t going anywhere. Otherwise, just the big oil companies.

 

we have some in ENB as well.

 

Is a day of nothing happening a good or bad sign?

 

People are waiting for guidance from the big banks this week. That guidance will say a lot and the market will react accordingly. Wells Fargo releases tomorrow morning. Then the other major banks through the week.

 

What do you mean by guidance? What will they be releasing?

 

In this environment, a few boring days are a good thing.

Lots of earnings coming out over the next few weeks, that should be interesting. Seeing history here evreyone who knows what will happen. First time ever the economy has basically been idled.

 

When a company releases earning they also provide guidance for the next quarter. Earning are what they made in the last fiscal quarter. Guidance is what they expect to make in the next fiscal quarter. That guidance will drive market share. It's why sometimes a company can have a great earnings report but their stock drops the next day. That happens when guidance is weak.

I would just add to this that guidance is often "revised" up or down throughout the quarter. Definitely a lot of downward revisions going on lately.

Yep. It doesn't happen often but it does happen. AAPL released revised guidance 2 months ago. Their stock took a hit because of it.

Yea, typically a downward revision is almost like reporting crappy earnings. Maybe not so much right now since everything is tanking, but normally that's what I notice.
