Every NAIL asset is down...hence the lovely NAIL day...The share price of nail isn't determined by people buying or selling it. It's controlled by the fluctuation of the underlying assets...If no shares exchanged the price still fluctuates

What an odd day. My account hung around -$1k all day, then in the last 10 minutes rallied and ended up about +$50. About as flat as it could have ended. I don't recall ever seeing a day like that.

 

I didn’t even look at my “portfolio” stocks. But my short quick traders did pretty well.

 

I am going to put $500 in tomorrow. I am starting to think I should have borrowed that from my savings and bought today, then repaid myself. It will be up big tomorrow because I'm buying, bank on it.

 

DTEA. That's all I'm going to say. You penny stock guys should pile in. That way I can sell tomorrow. I picked up 8000 shares. Lol

I don't think that's entirely true....
There is a difference between the NAV (Net Asset Value) of an ETF and it's market price. An AP (Authorized Participant) buys and sells the ETF along with it's underlying assets to keep the two relatively in line.
If you don't want your head to swim, you can probably just go with your statement though


NAIL closed today at 28.61. As I type this, it's trading after hours at 29.20. It's NAV is listed at 31.13. I think there's "arbitrage" opportunity for the AP to make money off the difference and bring them in line

 

Profit? The profit, or loss, is directly proportional to how much you have invested in a security. Quick in and quick out along with stop loss orders are how I cover my ass.

 

I know how it works, I’m saying specific to that stock, there has to be a reason you’d buy 8000 shares of this specific stock

Volume and momentum. Take a look at the 10 day average volume compared to today. They also release earnings on Monday. Those things make me believe it will move higher tomorrow. I'm already up 10.78% on it. I'll sell tomorrow or Monday at the bell. Stop loss is set so I can't loose anything. I'm locked at a minimum of 5% profit. For holding less then a day most likely.

Except for when you're getting your kid settled in for school at home and have to reboot the router right at 9:30 and trying to set a stop loss on your phone for GNUS and it keeps halting and getting rejected for being below market price...but you don't want to do a market dump and get screwed...so you ride it out...and end up pleasantly surprised to find yourself in the green still when it all settles out...
