The U.S. bond market is more than 2x the value of the U.S. stock market, so if the Fed can move/stabilize bonds, imagine what they could do with stocks.

The whole thing is a slippery slope so I don’t know if it’s a good thing that the Fed is doing things like this. I guess time will tell.

I'm OK with the Fed buying individual debt as long as that debt purchase has no strings attached. The Feds job is to keep liquidity in markets. Buying back debt is one way to do that. That frees up the company to put those funds towards other things, like growth.

What worries me the most isn't the Fed having the debt. It's what they might require of the indebted company. I can see the backroom deals now. Sure, we'll secure your 125M of bonds if you buy some stock back. Not saying it's going to happen like that but I think that it will. Shady shit.

I agree. Thankfully they haven’t tried to open the door for that possibility. Buying bonds moves the markets differently though, it’s indirect, gives confidence. I agree it’s a slippery slope, that’s why I said I will probably complain later. But I understand the goal, and it’s a unique circumstance. And time will certainly tell how this goes. I’d much rather the private sector was buying up the bonds they thought were worth it, and the fed could stay out of it.

I was thinking along those lines, but you put it into words well. Buying a company’s debt could lead to leverage over them if someone wanted to do it. Buying equity is a whole different story and I hope they don’t start doing that.

I believe equity would require some legal gymnastics. And that would be problematic in so many ways, it’s almost impossible to envision.

Oh and I discovered I ended the day up almost 5% with zero help from NRGU.
BTW I'm also looong on CMRE. They recover as shipping recovers.

Not sure, but I'd like to see >$20.

    I'm averaged in at $4.23ish.

I sold all of my DKNG and rolled it into NRGU (my only stock now).

Thats a different approach, still can’t bring myself to play with nrgu. But I’ll enjoy watching the rest of you hit it big if it goes to 20

I stick to large cap dividend paying aristocrats. I suck at making money in the market any other way.

Brave. I don’t know the company but they only spiked a bit before COVID and otherwise have been steady for about a year. But hey, good luck I’m hoping for 10/share by tomorrow for you.

Yeah. I want to see 20.xx

    :anonymous:

I’m not certain on my nrgu strategy. Maybe it’s 20.xx and then let the profits ride. Undecided at this point.

I’m on nrgu and MRO right now thanks to @TreeFortRichard I think. So I’m red on MRO :D once that gets sort of green I’ll probably bail, maybe drop profits into nrgu and take my donuts back.

but depends on the account. I think all of us here have monopoly accounts and if all your monopoly is in nrgu so be it. I know some aren’t playing with “play” money though.

If it hits $20, I'm debt free minus my mortgage @ 2.75%.

IF it hits $40, I'm shopping for a lake house...

That requires not selling at 20 on the way to 40. Might not be easy

you’re playing with more shares than me. Unless you don’t have much left on your mortgage and you can get a lake house for a grand. :D I’m playing with like 90 shares.

As said I don’t know my strategy. I might let the profits ride at 20 and earn me a vacation. I have faith it’ll hit 40 though. Might not be tomorrow but. It will get back to 40. 50 would be nice but I don’t see that happening soon.

that’s why I’m considering taking principal at 20. It’s easier on my stomach to see my profits drop rather than my principal.

Yeaaaa this started out as Monopoly money for me but now I’m looking at it and I’m like shit...I actually have a decent amount of money in my robinhood account now. I have my main retirement that I’m not touching and I don’t play with but this is looking more and more like serious money to me.
