Its obvious it’s not good in a market that’s not doing anything, but it’s also not great in this kind of volatility. Every time it comes back down, it’s a little lower in comparison with the underlying assets. So if this keeps up a little longer, we could be sitting here in a couple weeks with xom trading at 47, so up a little from where it is now, but nrgu might be 3. And from there it just takes more good days to get back. Until there is a real reason for an extended run, I’d take your profits and buy back in for trading it daily or after very short holds.

The way I see it, oil pricing are going up, economy will need to use more oil so NRGU has to go back up eventually. I’m holding long. I’m probably wrong, you seem to know a heck of a lot more than I do lol

Just as long as nobody Updyke's our Oaks we should be fine to ride this out to profits... (I love particularly regional references...)

oil is going down o_O but yeah eventually will go back up. And maybe not to the same levels right away. But we’ll see. I’m thinking, nrgu hold to 10 and then let the profits ride. If we get to like 9.7x or something on an up day I’d consider dumping then too. Not going to be greedy :D but then at that point I’ll sell the shares that are my principal and let profits go, and invest elsewhere (“play monopoly” elsewhere). I don’t know that I’ll have enough to experiment with options at that point. Might start looking at pharma or choose some random industries that I want to learn about a bit.

Anyone holding DIS? Just saw they pushed their opening date back so tomorrow might be a rough day for DIS.

I had DIS but divested at an average price of $107 and a 34% profit...I then bought some LOOOONG Calls $135 JAN 2022...It's been crazy watching it since then. It defies logic. There are 3 sides to it...Real investors looking to piggyback sentiment for gains, people who just want to own Disney, and people who think the Disney+ will have shares at $300 in a year...However...BILLIONS In bonds since COVID shutdowns might impact future value...

    One framed share ;)
I know a guy who got 200 shares as a gift in 1990 had no idea what they were presently worth...considering it went 4-1 and then 3-1 so he has 2,400 shares...@$107 right now...Initial investment was like $1500...now $256,000...he doesn't even think about it...

nice. I might end up investing in FUN long term actually. Not everything but for some longer term dividends. DIS is all about the value.

If you’re investing $1000, would you rather the 15% gain on that stake or the 5% gain?

I have a double digit ammount. I think it's up 600% since it was purchased, plus dividend reinvestment.

That’s a ridiculous question. And agrees with my short term argument. If it’s up 15%, take the money. I was discussing the people trying to hold for nrgu going to 10. Seems you could get in and out with several 15% gains before it’s likely to get to 10.

    Nail meet head.

To be fair though, a lot of this has to do with how active and experienced of a trader you are. Preference if you will.

I've traded NRGU twice. Never held for more then 2 days. I averaged a 10% return.

I've traded NAIL twice. Never held for more then 8 days. I averaged a 14% return.

My money did a lot of other things in between that also produced more gains then losses.

I traded nail twice also, very short holds. Haven’t played with nrgu, once market gets some momentum it would be a good one to grab a quick return on

For NRGU I just keep on eye on crude oil futures. Once it breaks out I buy. Then a set a trailing stop and forget about it.

For NAIL I wait till a day or two before new housing starts get announced. I'm a carpenter by trade and have a pretty good idea of what's going on. Even with COVID my company is still booked solid 2 years out.
