WTI is knocking on $41.00 door.

The difference between NRGU and UCO.

    UCO is up 2.8%
    NRGU is down .5%

Once the big oil companies release earnings, which will be some of the worse ever, I fully expect NRGU loose value.

I don't think oil will get that much cheaper in the short term which is why I made the switch from NRGU to UCO. Time will tell if it was the correct call.

Honestly though - do y’all think NRGU will ever get about $5 again or should I just cut my losses now

There's also no reason to have money locked up in a loosing position when so many winning positions are on the board. I guess it just depends on how deep that loss is and if your willing to take it.

I don’t get out of bed for 2.8%. Nobody cares about earnings, we all know they are bad. That’s why the stocks are where they are. It’s all going to be fine, recovery might just take longer than @Boyk1182 promised with that sharp V recovery o_O

Well, yea if you have all your funds for investment tied up in it. But I wouldn’t cut my losses on a down day. I tried to tell everyone it was crazy talk that it would get anywhere near 20. But you might be 3 days boosted by good vaccine news to be close to 5.

I saw dividends decreased like 45 billion last quarter. Less than a billion of that was my losses

Less than a billion for me as well thankfully. I haven't calculated, but I think $1,000+ (annually) can be attributed to me. I had 5-6 positions with $3.5k in each that cut. No bueno, I am really trying to avoid that in the next recession.

I've taken worse. It does suck though. Do some research on expected earnings and dates for the Big 10 then decide.

I was down $32,000 at the bottom...I've recovered $12,000 of that, and have the biggest dent still coming from NRZ Which was at $17 @~800 shares that fell to $7...So that's $8,000 right there that I am not recovering until it rebounds. I also dumped a bunch of garbage and probably accepted about $10K in losses...
Just a little traction on NRGU or NRZ would go a long way but it's getting painful. I would love to shut it all down and walk away for a bit and let things recover but I fear there's still more losses coming in oil. I really thought we would be at a better place by now in terms of consumption. On the bright side we might see the cheapest home heating oil costs in the northeast in history....I use electric heat and a pellet stove...

Yea I was down ~$100k in my retirement and I’ve recovered probably $90k of that. But that’s the $$$$ I don’t touch. I just logged in back in March to see how bad it was

I was thinking about this today...and every time I think that bad earnings will cause a share dip, it goes up...because the bad earnings were already priced in and not as bad as they thought...So if I sell NRGU to buy back in lower the earnings will come out as "Not as bad" or "Priced in loss" and NRGU will go up...If I hold, then NRGU will go down :)

Threw $60 at a random crypto a couple weeks back for $0.002 ea. Turns out it was the one that everyone went tiktok/twitter crazy over today and got out at $0.005. Nice 150% gain for a gamble. Set a buy for $30 worth at $0.003 for the heck of it when it drops down again. Yes I know crypto is a huge risk but I’ll play around with a little of my gains for a bit.

everything is a gamble. Especially right now. It’s as good as any. I might look at playing with either crypto or calls once I figure out what my nrgu plan is.
