That’s why I like them, priorities. Don’t pay your shareholders, you lose them. They are trying real hard to maintain that dividend. But all bets are off goes if oil demand doesn’t pick up relatively soon.

Seriously, people think it’s evil to say that, but shareholders are the owners. If nobody wants to own a company, they’ll sell it just to get out. It wouldn’t exist much longer after that. To me shareholders are as important, if not more important, than employees (they’re easier to replace). Sounds bad but I believe it.

I was in that boat. Just kept buying it down. Not sure that is the smartest way though, as I had like 1400 at one point. Lot of work for finally making $200 or so. :anonymous:

Id say whatever it’s at when CVX gets around 91 again. Unless it’s going up because of terrific vaccine news, then you might see a better exit point. Right now, it’s just falling further away from you. Even a crazy 10% day for the assets leaves you well short at this point. But 3 days at 5% gets you there. Don’t think that can happen without really good news though.

but the plasma treatment was going to save us! Why does the scientific community have to say it’s not a game changer. They must just hate the green market days

Well we had a good run I guess.

    PS
    https://www.cnbc.com/2020/08/25/ame...jobs-when-federal-aid-expires-in-october.html

I know a lot about the aero industry. It is my humble brag when I call things in aero well in advance because I work in it and know it. This one didn't help that CNBC and others were reporting it anyway, BUT yeah. And, in knowing the aero industry...there's a reason I own ZERO direct stake in it, only through boring ETFs if there are any.

    Edit:
More than 12,500 people have opted to leave American permanently while another 11,000 will be on leave in October, the executives said.

From the above article. 12.5k people elected to leave, that's a huge number, especially when most of their staff is in DFW and MIA. That's a massive number of people with likely very specialized skills, AMP etc. that don't really carry over elsewhere. Want to work in fleet maintenance with HTZ or something? Great. They give zero shits you have 10 years experience with aircraft, a ford fiesta doesn't have a jet engine on it (that would be fun....)

Aero is expensive and pays well, but super risky. I am fortunate, I work in QA Management, my skills directly translate to other industries - I can hop into an ISO9001 facility doing medical, after a few months learning the specific product (which would happen in a new AS9100/Aero facility too) I can hit the ground running. Flight attendants, mechanics, etc - they're not as fortunate/lucky, it's going to be a huge strain, especially on the local industries in MIA/DFW/TUL. Tulsa alone is about 5k personnel. In a city of 400k people (had to look up TUL population) that's insane. This is why I was saying Oct/Nov will be bad months. This isn't just AAL in TUL/MIA/DFW, this is United in San Francisco, Southwest in Houston, Delta in Atlanta...It's not just the sudden shock of "okay there's 1k unemployed in Tulsa", there's the lingering result of 1k people spread out looking for jobs when other industries are also hurting, etc etc. with little cross-discipline experience for a lot of people coming out of aero. It'll be years before aero recovers, we're always fast to dive and slow to recover compared to other industries.
