Weird childhood memory- My uncle pulling up to our house around 8pm with a deer embedded in the front of his early 80's GM station wagon, head resting on the driver's side of the hood, hooves just barely off the ground. Perfectly centered. It cracked the grill but didn't do much else. Smallish deer- 100lb or so. A large buck would have caused a completely different scene.

Never swerve. if you hit a deer it is a comprehensive claim, the lower of your 2 deductibles (usually). and not as nearly as bad as when you swerve, dont hit the deer, head on another auto, hit the ditch, tree, mailbox, roll over, whatever... then it is a chargeable collision loss. and that is where the real rate increases come and stay on your policy for 5-7 years. static cling. hair pops off the deer, aerodynamics and static, make it stick in weird places. the tail gate gets a lot of stuff stuck to it from the aero vortex. ever notice the first place that is dusty when driving, is your tail gate? Viloa! static cling. Ski

Sorry to hear about the damage. I hope it is repairable as long as airbags did not deploy. My family already suffered 2 deer hits this year, so we all have to be extra careful.

Total estimate --- $9,168.73...This is to replace my Apex Nova headlights,Pro grill, front clip, some wiring, and fender etc...not that bad of a price I guess...Geico adjuster has Apex Nova headlights to be replaced for $1,789.00 and Pro Grill for &436.00...
I bought both brand new for $1,300...so I'm not complaining at all!...
Just want my truck back exactly the way it was before all of this happened.

Getting a rental sometime this week, and free tow to to a VERY VERY REPUTIBLE repair shop in my area!!!

He's been in business for 33 years....Hes very anal about getting it done correctly!!
Several people have used him and highly recommended me to this shop, having spoke to the guy I could tell he WILL Not except anything but perfection.
