I expected this to be the turn of events, when Apple released the 3G iPhone the next year it was the 3Gs and the year after that it was the iPhone 4. Come the first of the year my gf and I will be upgrading to the 4s

I don't know about Verizon, I will never use them. Their prices suck and I was grandfathered in with Unlimited Data on AT&T. :D

Also, do you have screenshots showing the 80Mbps speeds you are talking about? I have yet to see one. Fastest I have seen is in the 40Mbps range (~5MB/s). I realize they claim, "Speeds up to..." but I have yet to actually hold a 4G LTE device in my hands and see those speeds.

Here is the speed breakdown against the other AT&T phones they chose...

It's not full 4G, but it's pretty damn fast.

Not to mention that just about everywhere you go these days has WiFi. Hell, I drove past a Funeral Home yesterday and they had WiFi...

It is in all major markets. They are actually ahead of schedule. I think it will be everywhere before the end of this year. And it is crazy fast. I have an upgrade waiting for me.. I wanted to see what this phone was going to be before I purchased. No way now after I found out is is only 3g. I don't want to be stuck on old technology for 2 years when LTE is available.

Those are all AT&T phones it is comparing to. Verizons LTE is leaps and bounds faster than those phones.

    Nice edit ;)

I never said 80... Not sure where you got that. But it is a fact that LTE is 10 times faster than 3g.

    \/ You said 10MB/s, which equals 80Mb/s. \/

Big difference between MB and Mb. :D

    No 4g.
    No expandable memory.
    Still no Flash support.
And who gives a shit about the camera?
    Still not impressed.

I'll wait and see what the 5 has to offer. Until then, Droid Bionic ftw!

I also find it kinda funny how Apple sues everybody for "copying" there products, yet they are clearly copying the Android platform with iOS 5.

No Flash support does suck. But hopefully everybody will move over to HTML5 soon enough.

People who take pictures apparently care about the camera. There are more iPhone shot photos uploaded to Flikr than any other digital camera (dSLR, point & shoot, etc).

Flash is irrelavant. With the popularity of iPhone, almost everyone has an iOS optimized site. They even show up different between iPad and iPhone even though they're essentially the same OS. Hardly an argument.

And for me, expandable memory is a non-issue. I don't have a need to keep my entire music collection with me at all times. If I have movies, they're deleted once they're watched. I have no need for more than the base 16gb. And to top all of that, iCloud is now in the picture...no reason to have more physical memory for me.

I agree in that I was underwhelmed by the internal-only redesign, but that coupled with a MASSIVE expansion in software capabilities, it's a no brainer buy for me.

As far as "copying" others, they're simply exersizing their right to defend their patents. If you made a flying spaghetti monster Ver1 and got the patent for it, and I came along with the floating spaghetti monster ver2 that did or used something that you have patented, don't think for one second you wouldn't do the same thing Apple is doing. And besides, the lines of distinction between these things is so blurred anymore with the blazing speed of technology change - you don't see LG suing Samsung for coming out with a thinner TV do you?

    EDIT:
And I'm sure 4G will come with the next gen iPhone - they're simply doing what Apple has always done - consistant, reliable, innovative changes and NOT jumping in before the technology is at a level that they see fit to use their products on (look up Thunderbolt for example)

Honestly I wish it was had 4g on it. I was waiting for the iPhone 5 to come out so I could jump ship from my Droid.

For people with the iPhone4 from VZW, can you tell me what programs are preinstalled on the device?

Im not interested in having another phone with tons of useless shit on there that VZW now puts on their Android products

iPhones come stock with NOTHING more than you need. Any apps passed stock, you download yourself from The App Store.

Just the standard Apple Apps - Photos, Calendar, Stocks, Weather, etc...

Everything Apple makes is worth it and is not a nuisance whatsoever. I just move the apps that I never use to the last page (Stocks, Voice Memo, etc...).
