The iPad seems to be having more issues. I can only assume it's because the update package has to be larger for the iPad than it is for the iPhone. That's just an assumption, though.

I've tried it a couple times too, I keep getting the error message 3200. I looked on Apple Support's website and they didn't have 3200 listed under their error codes. I'm thinking it's just because the entire planet is trying to update their iPhones and iPads right now...

Weird...I could have sworn our Dev Center version of iOS 5 was bigger for the iPad 2 than the iPhone. Maybe because our Dev iPad 2 is 3G? Is yours?

Sounds like waiting is the right thing to do. I'll let you know how it goes here in the office. I'm about restore our Dev iPhone and update it with the final version...this may end up being a mistake but we'll see...

That's what we are getting, too. Seems everybody is having the same issue. It has to be a communication issue on Apple's end. I imagine they are just overloaded.

Here is Apple's Knowledge Base entry for Error 3000-3999...

I have isolated our connection so that it is not using a proxy and I have disabled our firewall, so this is not the issue for us. I also have gs.apple.com Whitelisted, so even if the firewall was on, it would bypass any and all integrity checks. Given all of that, I have to say it is on Apple's end.

Terminal entries (if that is what you are suggesting) can be tricky for those of you that have never done it before.

If it were me, and I had no experience with them, I would just wait for Apple to fix the issue, or at least release some information on it.

That's just my opinion, do what you feel comfortable doing.

iOS 5 is downloading for me right now - 11 minutes left.

I don't mean to sound like a troll, but you did tell it to Restore From a Backup, correct? Just want to make sure.

    That's good info!

I hadn't thought about making sure the OS was updated to the latest. Mainly because I haven't used my Mac to do it yet, and I'm a freak about Software Updates. :D
