    I had this exact same error, all i did was unplug the phone, then shut the computer off completely. When the computer is back up, i opened Itunes before plugging the phone in and everything install properly.

    EDIT: Opps ipad, well is worth a try.

    same thing happened to me and my iphone 4, just unplug it, wait a few min, try again, took me three tries and the worked

    I see one really nice feature of IOS 5 is you can now update the device in stand alone.
    Meaning, you no longer need a PC or MAC to update your devices.

    Do you have an Apple TV that is setup with your Apple ID and paired with your iPad?

    If so, it should be there. I know that only certain third-party apps will have it built in, but the mirroring will work regardless.

    Found it...double tap home, slide the dock over two "pages." There isn't anything about it in the settings. Just randomly thought to try and look there and sure enough, there it is!
