I would argue we got more ice then snow.......had a quarter inch build up of ice on my headlights and lightbar that I had to chip off halfway through our roadtrip. Some interesting weather we are getting these days.

Used to be assistant manager of one at the dealership. Honestly, no such thing as cheap, if you want it done right. What are you looking at being done?

There really are not any legal trails in Iowa that I am aware of other then private land. There is a spot south of Knoxville that is private land with trails. You must be a member or know someone who knows the owner.

I take it you don't feel you have the required mechanical knowledge? I wonder what the dealership charges these days for that job? Probably way too much. Last time I did my I was fortunate to have a couple other TW members help me out. My timing belt had 200K on it, no kidding. I would definitely buy OEM parts from Ebay if you have a shop other than the stealership do it.

Best bet might be a great fabricator/welder mainly on Jeeps but this seems pretty straight forward. AwwDude is right on Hickman.

Not sure I can. Have a welder but I am not that skilled with it and not familiar with the CMC. Try Luke at Frontier 4X4 down by Chariton. There will most likely be a wait as he is good at fabricating and building 4x4's so he keeps pretty busy.

Any of you local guys like guns? Got a VP9 and a BPS for sale. VP9 has 60 rounds through it and the BPS has zero.

I'll probably end up posting it in the ad section, but figured I'd toss it in here, too.

Feel free to PM if you would like some details.

My cousin is a welder in the Bondurant area. Can pretty much do anything you want. He's been doing it for 20+ years. Has a lift as well If he has a guide of what needs to be done I'm 100% sure he can do it. He's done some amazing work in the past. Built things not even thought of. Currently he does some contract work for John Deere and another guy doing exhaust turnouts. Works with stainless and metal all of the time.

He's also very reasonable with pricing, maybe too reasonable. I always give him more $$ than what he asks. He just doesn't like taking people for a $$$ ride.

Let me know if you want his contact info. All that I ask is not to take advantage of him and he will treat you right 100%.
