My 2004 Tacoma just hit 90K miles. Who do you recommend to do the timing belt, water pump? I’m in the Urbandale area.F4E7C493-A9FD-40E6-8ECC-8023EA10586F.jpg

Are you mechanically inclined at all? A couple members here helped me. It wasn't too bad, we all did the valve cover gaskets.

Phone a friend? A shop will charge a lot for labor and it really is fairly easy, just time consuming. All the necessary tools are are fairly common accept the crank pulley tool. I made one with a couple bolts and 5/8 plywood. Otherwise any decent mechanic shop should be able to do it easily.

I just Fluid Filmed my frame for winter... Since I have all the necessary tools to FF a truck, I'd consider hosting a "Fluid Film party" in the future, maybe next fall. That is if anyone else is interested. Or if someone wants to spray their truck l might be able to help...

I wish I had more time in my days to stop by and say hi to @Renaud33 and @Penten. I was down in Bedford (south of Des Moines) Saturday picking up a flatbed for my truck. I did stop in Ames for the night though. That town has changed a ton! Buildings and houses everywhere now.

I drive by Bedford quite a bit. It’s crazy how much all of the areas around Des Moines are blowing up. Was in grimes the other day and a guy commented to me then that he hadn’t been there in about 5 years and couldn’t believe how big it was! Ankeny is the same. A few years back I went to a huge bonfire outside of a barn, and now it isn’t even there. I can tell I’m getting older because I dislike all the expansion lol

$1,000 seems awfully high. I could be coaxed into doing a 6th one for $999.95.

I don't see where he said $1,000. Does that include the parts? It has been so long since I have had the job quoted from a dealership, I mean stealership, that I don't what the ball park is now.

When I needed mine done about a year ago I was quoted $850 and that wasn't at a sealership.
