When I broke it I crawled under there in the snow and put one zip tie on. That lasted about 5 miles. Now I have three zip ties in place of each missing bolt. So far so good... If I can get a free minute I'll hunt down replacement bolts and get it fixed right. At least I didn't use duct tape!

Very true my friend lol definitely a good choice. But you have some balls crawling under your truck in the snow.

If I'm willing to play in the snow I have to be willing to work in the snow when I brake something!...

will do. We replaced all the lighting. It looks amazing for it's age. Each week we do another project together on it, radiator flush, differential fluid change, pull out interior and detail and re-install, etc. He has a light. Loving every second of our time together.

Good times! The time I spent with my father working on vehicles are some of my favorite memories. I look forward to working on my 1st Gen (and other vehicles) with my son.

I live a few miles from the Missouri river (on the high ground) and my local news only covers the Iowa towns on the mighty Mo. I heard this morning what the estimates were for flood damage in Iowa  I had no idea the damage done was over twice what Nebraska's estimate is, I mean we lost 200 miles of roads and bridges, how many did you lose statewide, was I-29 a big part of that estimate?
It's shameful that the Feds let two of your small towns on the Missouri meet their demise and still won't protect I-29 from flooding like what happened in 2o11. I rather take that route to KC than the highway in NE as I seem to arrive in KC much quicker through Iowa, ... love to drive and look at little Pacific Junction and Hamburg on the way but possibly no more :(

I-29 (Council Bluffs) to 680 (north Omaha exit) finally opened to one lane yesterday (or maybe it was just the 680 road to the bridge?)
took a short cruise to check it out
looks like Iowa has a new lake out there now
some medians still full of water

I'm avoiding going into IA right now because I74 is a F'n' mess of construction across the Mississippi. High water/flooding really hasn't had a big impact here, just typical spring flooding.

so nothing like it was in the early 90s? I vaguely recall that flooding disaster in '93?

    https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Great_Flood_of_1993
curious to see how this current flood in western Iowa and 1/3 of Nebraska compares to this when its all over (which it isn't with the Rockies snowmelt still coming, and I think they had record snowfall)

'93 was one of the worst. Easily the worst in my lifetime here. Then it was bad again in '03... It could get worse but so far the flooding hasn't been that bad this year.

I forgot to include Missouri in all of this going on currently
.. not sure what safeguards they have around the KC area for the mighty Mo to reservoir off
when we were last flooded here for months during 2o11 I don't recall much of an issue downriver before it dumps into the Mississippi
I have cousins that live near Columbia, I shall have to ask them if they remember

What part of IA? I'm actually an Illinoisan but I can see IA from the end of my street.
