If I floor it I won't throw a code. But if I 3/4 throttle it it will. Or if I'm just driving around town it randomly will for no apparent reason, or if I'm cruising on the highway it will throw a code every quarter mile on flat ground. If I'm trying to accelerate up a hill I will get one every time without fail. Or if I try to accelerate in 5th gear.

I can definitally tell you that your engine is fine as fare as the internals go. I wouldn't worry about that.

So WOT (wide open throttle) is good.

Change your plugs and check ECM if its not that you might have carbon build up in your combustion chamber and it has to be brushed out. While a mechanic is in there they will want to replace head gasket because they'll want to pull the heads off. At Toyota $1000 at a good mechanic you trust $700-800

The ECM can get costly to. Most of the time when you get a new one its refurbished and doesn't have a tune on it so you will need to flash or reprogram it. Also they have to associate your Immobilizer with your keys to start the truck.

Causes of ECM faulures are really undocumented its hard to say because its not a complete failure its just a chip set within the board.

But the combustion chamber carbon build up is form not putting your foot in its ass enough and running crappy fuel. On the flip side of people put 93 or 91 in but they are getting a lower grade maybe 90< because of cheap ass gas stations and shifty oil companies.

Good luck PM me if you need anything else.

Just read your profile on your build and your running methanol??!?!?! WHY!?!?! How much timing are you putting in that motor? If I was to the point were I had to methanol inject a truck I would be putting that bitch the floor ever time I got in it because your going to be running super rich. Did you tune that motor out? Because on the 13's no one has broke the encryption for the ECM yet so you can't tune them Toyota will provide you with a tune but its a canned piece O shizer. Its impossible for the tune they give you to ever get it to ping because they barely put any timing in it. But, you run methanol so you must have to put more timing if not that what would be the point methanol just brings your spark temperature town if you run to high preventing detonation.

I'm pretty sure carbon build up isn't an issue. I drive the hell out of it every time I drive. 1 rev limiter a day apparently does not keep the mechanic away. The ecm in these trucks is pretty universal. I have no flash or immobilizer. As long as I can find a v6 manual transmission 4wd it will work. Might try that.

I don't run meth yet. Water/meth is used to combat ping. I had ping. I tried tuning it out. Now with my current exhaust I can't tell if I ping. The meth would be hard to tune with my current setup. I spent 4 hours tuning the truck and still think it wasn't good.

Trying to tune right now would be impossible. I can't do a 3rd or 4th gear pull without throwing a cel. The only time I can go WOT is from 1st gear. If I'm cruising and go WOT I get timing retard and a cel. I've loaded 4 different previous tunes and no change.

One thing I just thought of is not too long before this issue started, I couldn't hit 10 psi of boost anymore. The stock pulley got me 6.5, and the URD 2.2" would get me 10. Then one day I noticed even with the 2.2" pulley I get about 6 maybe 7 psi. I tried tuning and everything but that extra few psi is gone. Where did it go? Something got screwed.

Any loose connections? Its odd to not get an increase. unless your SC needs rebuilt maybe a gasket wasnt seated properly ? I'd put money on something small because although your throwing could you still can hit boost. But idk just throwing ideas out there

I had it apart 3 times and checked everything. And replaced the bank 2 knock sensor and wiring harness. New gaskets. Everything is as good as it can get. The supercharger is driven off the engine so as long as I gas it it will boost. Once it retards the timing and boosts its just dumping an insane amount of fuel in the engine and I peg my afr gauge at 10. But can't accelerate. It's either the ecm or I'm putting in a new engine. Boost is a waste of time compared to a tundra v8.

    Unless it's a 2jz anything under a v8 is pointless ;P

The 2jz is heavier than a 2uz and the power to weight ratio is lower. And it costs almost triple. And the 2uz runs on cheap gas. And the 2uz makes massive torque at low rpm. The 3uz would be even better but it costs double and is harder to swap.

After market support on a 2jz is endless and it's meant for high end and I believe had a more constant powerband plus all those 1000 hp supras on YouTube :p

High end is worthless in an off road truck. I would take torque for anything any day. But the tundra engine can support more horsepower than a 2jz anyway.

Do you have a write up for the tundra swap?

There's this one, but it's a 1st gen taco. You might have to look around for a 2nd gen one. There are also some LS1 swap threads that look interesting.
