Oh yeah, I forgot! Beer and White Castles are on sale at Hy-Vee! :D

I picked up a 1999 TRD 4X4 Tacoma for $1,200. It was destined for the salvage yard due to frame rot. It has 195k on the clock, manual trans, working locker and french fries and Doritos under the seat. Right now I am in the process of determining what direction I want to go with the frame repair, replace or part out. The major rust is isolated to rear and under the cab. Looking at it from the front you would never know how bad the rear is. I am always looking to expand my tool collection so a repair might be good cost justification for that but who knows...

I have placed the french fries and Doritos in a non-airtight container and will be rewarding them to whoever finds a good partial or complete Tacoma frame for me!

I've enjoyed my 10 years here. I'm on the good side (IA). :D

Lots to do and see, I just don't like how spread out everything is.

I will let you know, Pete. If I do part it out the seats and door panels will probably go into my truck. I thought it would be cool to have a regular cab with power locks, power windows and lamps in the doors.

I may have found an '04 frame from a 4x4 V6 truck a little less than an hour away. I will know more Monday after getting pics of the frame. If I go and look at it are there any parts you want me to look at?

I know the interior will be completely different. If you are looking for fender color match that is a negative too. Your blue wasn't available in '04 and if it has fender flares it will have holes for the clips. If it is a TRD it may still have the elocker if that interests you.

    What were the wrong parts?

Come look at my '99 frame. It will make you feel a lot better about yours!

Are the mounts not as wide as factory? I know on my All-Pro mounts the tube is only as wide as the leaf spring unlike factory. You won't be able to run tapered/angled/factory looking shackles with All-Pro's mounts.

Not sure on that. He has spacers for the shackles. He ended up with 4 rear spring hangers and 0 rear shackle hangers. He ended up with 1st gen truck/4runner brake lines which won't work. Front diff drop kit had threads messed up on one of the long bolts.

Got my order from Camelback Toyota and had wrong parts. :( 3 lower ball joints and only 1 outer tie rod.

Found a good deal on tires from Discount Tire on Ebay. $100 off $400 or more and free shipping. You can order tires in pairs, so I did that and saved $200. I went with Cooper ST Maxx 285/75/16 for $720 shipped.
