@BEAR_KNIFE_FIGHT and I usually take a trip a year. I like traveling around summer solstice, best bang for my vacation buck. Moab and Grand Canyon have been tossed around for this year. Plans were for Colorado, but alot of passes won't be open yet. @Shellshock and @Thatbassguy I'll keep you in the loop

It’s an easy drive. I’ve gone twice, I’ve learned a ton - I bought the experience pass so there’s a whole bunch of training classes from 7P that you can participate in. Including ones utilizing your own vehicle for driving or recovery courses.

these are the guys that do a lot of the courses. They’ve all done remote trips all over the world and do training and guided trips.

it’s also fun to walk to camp area and see what other people are doing. Plus every vendor on the planet is there and the majority stay on site and have things to do in the evening.

I didn't see anyone mention Cliffs in the list of possible off road spots. All be it not the most exciting ORV park in the world. Can be a lot of mud if it's been rainy. It gets a lot of traffic from kids out of Chicago. On the plus side, it's not too far from the Quad Cities and there's a State Park near by that is good for camping.

does the western Iowa side make much news headlines on the eastern side?
i took a drive up I29 next to the MO river today, its been a few months since i have from KC, it is still in bad shape with standing water and a couple exits closed about 10-20 miles from the MO border

 

Only if somebody notable dies, or that part of the state is under water.

Happy 2020 all. I have a few things to shore up and then I am really ready to start planning some trail time.

I haven’t heard back from anyone with local, private property, spots yet. But I am still pushing. Trying to get creative.

 

IDK ... my local powdercoater in Papillion NE is moving to Council Bluffs this year, have had a few things sharpened up and hopefully made more winter durable, i still have to get my front skid plate to them and the brake calipers once i figure those out

so more time spent in Iowa for me

 

All the way across the river to the Iowa side of Omaha lol better be careful over here in the cold weather state

Cold doesn't bother me. I just want some time off to go explore offroad things. Also time to find some private property to wheel.

I want to find something that isn't 3+ hours away from home.
