I feel like you’re in my predicament. “To busy” to do anything.

It's a true story. First year at this gig so PTO time is a bit scarce. It will be better after June, but still. Also, the kid is starting to get into stuff, she's 7, and that is taking "personal" time away as well. I'm not complaining about that, just a fact of life. The time is there, I just have to "find" it. Which makes it harder to just "do" things. All has to be planned out and you have to hope something doesn't come up to then have those plan's fall through.

    Adulting is dumb.

is DSM 1st gen Tacoma friendly? been looking for a body shop that knows a thing or two because they've seen a thing or two

my aimless search around the Omaha area last year literally wore me out, nobody seemed to know much anything about the 'frame rot' issue, I tried at least 7 or 8 places before giving up

the endless searching on TW is not proving fruitful to the 'unique' situation at hand
the company i have been using to source supplies for this does not know much about the Tacoma situation either

The people I know only came back with hot-rod style shops that do good bodywork. The problem is, they do good work so they are constantly booked with work they WANT to do. So you would be hard pressed to get a good shop to WANT to do something like fighting rust on a older Toyota pickup. Your best bet is going to be hitting up 4x4 guys or even 4x4 shops in the DSM area and ask them for advice.

Is he talking about straight replacing the frame or repairing whats left? Two totally different stories and I'm not sure why you would want to approach a body/frame shop about that kind of work and not just go to a reputable Toyota dealer.

PS. - A good body shop would cost you well north of that in just about every instance... Unless there is VERY little work to be done.

i have not yet found any problems that would justify a whole new frame, which is good!

Yeah. I don’t care about PTO. I’ll be out early this year and it won’t reset till September. Oh well.
I have 4 kids to contend with. Super hard to find time to leave everyone to go do stuff. I have 2/3 big things piled on my plate I have to get done and I’m totally slacking on them
