I wish I had a garage even half this size. Mine is big enough for the Tacoma and just barely.

A big garage was one of my ‘must haves’ when we started house hunting. It’s an extra large two car. We’ve had 3 cars in it but it was a tight squeeze and they were three fairly small cars. The GX and the Taco fit pretty easily.

    it looks heated too!
not that having a heated garage is necessarily a good thing in the mid west

It’s insulated and now it’s heated. My uncle and I put a small propane heater in this year. It works great. 13,000 btu I think.

is there any way to prove that having a detached & unheated garage saved my old Tacoma from complete devastating rot out :notsure:

If you want to go that deep, you would also need a gravel/dirt floor as to combat the trapping of moisture.

    You are quite obsessed though......

Yep that’s what my next house will have. Ideally oversized individual doors

Yep dirt floors are great... Especially when raccoons and other critters dig their way in and make it their home

Yeah, my next place will have a shop or I will build one. With tall doors and at least a two post lift. If not one two post and one four post.

A two post lift makes doing just about any maintenance so much easier. The four posted would be for storage and detailing.

i have been told by several that all that is needed are some decent jack stands!

    my setup is not 'ideal'

Sure but a lift is way easier. Doing my suspension on jack stands would have sucked.

Sure that’s all that ‘needed’. Do a job on your back and then do that same job on a lift..... Then tell me that jack stands are ‘just fine’.

You CAN do just about anything on jack stands. But I prefer the old adage of working smarter, not harder.
