I too get good fuel economy coasting down a mountain. Too bad there isn’t more Midwest mountains.

i only had 200 miles or so in the high mountains, i was not coasting it was in 5th gear on the way down so i did not have to pump the brakes often
and i did not putter around on I-25 or into Boulder with fast moving traffic 80-90 for almost an hour on multiple trips south-north and back in one day

i think that they BIG OIL are supplying us mid westerners with CHEAP gas .... unless the altitude change has a significant play on my engine

i believe the Shell 91 octane i was using in Colorado had a 10% ethanol blend in it as well, but don't quote me on that

altitude is a + or - on fuel economy?

I had 350 on the tripmeter and the low fuel light had not even come on yet!

That'd be because they are hills. But, also, north eastern Iowa has much larger changes in altitude than that. I guess the highest point in Iowa is near the South Dakota border, though. I would not have called that.

Speaking of ice cream, my wife went out and met some friends last night and brought home Whitey's. It was delicious.

i could if you want, assuming its driveable at highway speed

not sure what the minimum bid the seller will accept is
it has been rejected twice so far in the past couple weeks
    and auction started over

its the last year you could get the V6 3.4 in a single cab!
