You can almost count on it. 99% of the time the HR person posted the gig's has no freaking idea what they are hiring for and the last person quit, likely short notice, without being able to help them make a job description. That's if HR would have listened anyway.

Oh i forgot 20 years experience for an entry level position. Thats always a good one.

Or more years experience than a specific technology has existed.

I guess ill be the guy to say it for everyone..

Everyone has their complaints about stuff from time to time, but after a while it gets old when its the same thing over and over and over again. A LOT of guys here have offered good advice or tried to help you out which is typically flat out ignored or you make some ridiculous claim that people don't know what they are talking about.

When I was really pushing to move up, at least a couple times a month I would see them. By pushing hard, I mean I was spending at least 2 hours a day looking and sending my resume out. Literally hundreds of jobs in a month. I bet I could find an example in an hour or two if I were to try and look for it.

"At least 10 years experience Administering Windows Server 2012 environment" - I can for sure tell you I've seen that more than a few times.

    A lot.

Thats why you make up experience. You want a bunch of virtualization experience? Yeah i ran parallels on my MacBook in 2006. Guess that’s 14 years! But lets not forget about classic macOS which adds a few more years to that. That easily over qualifies me for Senior Computer Director guy.

It never ceases to amaze me the stupidity you find in job descriptions. In forestry it’s mostly post a job that a fresh college grad could do but require several years of experience for no reason. Then the HR people just throw out all the applications that don’t meet the experience requirement they made up and then are left with nobody.

i honestly have no clue about anything you just said, the only 'good advice' (as you refer to it) i seem to get is to get a new $40k to $50k truck and not deal '25 year old truck issues'
    seriously uncool of you

That was after an exhaustive conversation over multiple weeks of ways of remedying your issues or that consumable components wear out and need replaced. Things don’t last forever.

You started getting that because you expressed interest in getting a new vehicle. Then you never even bothered to actually go drive one. Instead of pretending you have interest in a new truck how about you say no and then you’ll stop getting the advice.
