3rd party parts supplier and coding, from what I gathered. There's a unique set of circumstances than can cause the low pressure fuel pumps to shut off, even while driving.

The fact that it's not happening all over the place is a good thing, seems like Toyota has decided to tackle the issue before it becomes a problem.

 

Makes sense. Just interesting it goes back to older Toyota/Lexus models, but not the early 3rd gen Tacomas, but somewhere in the 17 model became an issue again. Guess you never know

Oh, possibly. I only saw 18’s 19’s the first go around. Maybe it will include all trucks when they decide on a fix.

 

i do not recall my model year having any issues what-so-ever

i've never had to take it in for any recalls or warranty that i can remember right now
that is weird!

 

acid rain is not an issue as it was decades ago

Well... aside from the frame rotting

 

never got a letter for that issue that i recall
from what i can remember in late 2010 they entered my VIN into the machine and found no whatever its called on the system that authorized them to inspect
so idk other than being pure fuckery

 

Newer vehicles just have more recalls. More things to cause minor issues. Once it’s all EV’s, there will be fewer moving parts and most fixes will be simple software updates.

 

I’m excited for when I have to stop and reboot my car lol

 

You’ll get a notice on the screen. Vehicle will restart in 10 minutes. I’m sure there will be reboot lanes installed by then. No worries

 

And then it suddenly reboots at 5 lol
