Welcome! I'm in Davenport. Never heard Eldridge called "The Dridge" though! Also a car fanatic, currently toyless. Still trying to figure out what the next toy is going to be.

Hey, Steve! How did those 4runner wheels work out?

Dude they are sooooo good. I slapped some Yokohama Iceguards on em and the truck is a BEAST in the snow. Lower on power to weight vs the other cars I've had which helps a ton. But I loaded up a full bed and drove it out to Colorado for Christmas to ski with the fam. Was supposed to go back in March for Spring Break - but stupid Covid19 closed all the resorts. Boo.

Cool! I'm glad they're being put to use.

I'll be up for trail riding at some point, at least in the right seat so I can get a view of what happens 'out there'. I am getting used to saying "Eh, it's a truck. Who cares if there's a little scratch here or there." I am, for example, completely done trying to keep the bed looking pristine. Because it is a TRUCK. FOR DOING TRUCK STUFF. So eventually a little trail rash may not bother me.

Many, many moons ago I had a 1998 Cherokee Sport. Chicago suburb kid, went to U of Iowa (GO SQAWKEYES!), and I used to go out on rainy days to a 'low maintenance road' and play in the mud. That vehicle lacked any traction systems, a locker, or even limited slip. The Taco is way more composed in snow. The eLSD systems that in my not so humble opinion work wonders (especially when compared to nothing). Let alone a real live LOCKER (that I'll probably never need).

I met @Thatbassguy and like most Wisconsinites - despite being a Packer fan - he's a good dude with a nice rig. He also got me a smokin' deal on his take-off 4R wheels. $400 cash money, and I got the yokos in summer for $385 shipped IIRC. I'm getting so used to the look of the 4R wheels that it's gonna be weird going back to my stockers.

Oh right, I work in IT. I work on enterprise systems for medical device companies (and previously Aerospace & Defense) as a consultant. Fortunately I am able to work from home pretty easily. I used to travel weekly for work - did it for over a year. For FOUR years before that I worked exclusively from home - never even met my managers in person. Due to 'rona my ridiculous travel has been cut 100% and I'm back to working from home. Also: "No I cannot fix your Internet." ;)

Any local establishment in Eastern Iowa (Iowa City, CR, Quads, Dubuque) that ya'll would recommend to install a pop-n-lock?

I recommend the kit from Toyota and doing it in the garage. It’s plug and play and well documented. 1-2 hours depending on how fast you move.

I should mention that mechanically i'm an idiot. I have already purchased the pop-n-lock kit along with a wiring harness. Maybe once we de-covid19 the world I can get a hand. I provide beer, whiskey for help.
