Truth. His Fodera was a grad gift from Grandma. Top of the line stuff. Honestly didn't know he had sold the Warwick, I thought he'd keep it as a backup since it's so solid.

    Hmm what now?

To be honest, I probably never would have afforded a Thumb if my Grandpa hadn't left me some $$ when he passed. My parents weren't too thrilled about me spending most of it on a bass, but let me make my own decision. In hindsight, it was one of the best decisions I've ever made! I'll tell anyone that a quality instrument is worth spending money on. It's better now than it was new.

Like yes, but... Idk. Looks don't do it for me on this one. For some reason. I actually like the looks of the GT86 better.... :anonymous:

I still think I’m in the camp where I’d rather buy a MT 86 and save $30,000 to put towards upgrades

The hakone and TRD editions are pretty sweet.

It depends what part. I think most people just complain about rock island and around there.

Or maybe all the shitty people finally left and went to Muscatine. I dont miss living there.

I was in the same boat until I saw one in person. If you already have, then disregard.

The 86 is really a beautiful car! I like @Shellshock 's idea. Buy the 86, and mod from there.

Yes! I was just curious. The new Supra really grew on me while I gawked at it in person. But, I really love that 86.

Honestly, though, I still really like the 370Z. I know it's an old-ass design with some flaws, but I really love them. Given $50K, I'd probably get a Z with a Stillen blower.

Eh they're cool, like a drop top Z (slower and heavier, I know) would be a great cruiser. Can't get over all the Renault engineering in them though. Still a great roadster/coupe (obv nothing touches an MX5)

I mostly just like how they look. But, VVEL is pretty damn amazing, if you ask me. I struggle with the idea of buying anything that's not a Toyota. But, if you ever want to drive anything exciting, you have to get over it.

Let's face it; neither the 86 nor the GR Supra are Toyotas.

I've thought about a 370z more than once and doing a twin turbo setup. One of the reasons I would get a Supra, though, is because I know my wife would drive it. She wouldn't drive a Z because it's a manual and even if I taught her how to properly drive a manual, once it made decent power, I am certain she'd be afraid to drive it. I want her to have just as much fun as I do.

That and when it comes down to it, to have a 86 at a reliable 550-600HP you're spending the same money you would on a Supra and you don't get that inline-6 goodness. Plus, from what I understand, the Supra's are super easy to work on.

I have owned a WRX that made 400awhp and understand how much of a pain in the ass it was to keep it running. When nothing is designed for that kind of power, everything has to be upgraded. Especially when you drive them like I do. My 2006 Mustang had over 150 quarter mile passes on it and I only owned it for 4 years. The WRX had multiple trips a season to road coarses and quite a few 1/4 mile passes. Just for an example.

Why on Earth would you want 600hp in a 2600lb GT86?

The 200 it has is a little shy of sports car territory, but I can't imagine 300 being "not enough" lol.

When I look at little car like the 86, I don't see quater mile drag time. I see zippy back country roads, hard and fast corners, the sheer joy of driving.

But maybe that's just my approach. :D

You say that, but I can tell you with near certainty that if I put you in a properly set up 300 horsepower car and then a properly setup 600 hp car you'd pick the 600hp car from then on. You would be shocked how usable a properly setup 600hp car is on track or on the street. Once you pass the 600-650hp mark, that's when returns start to diminish.

It could also be that I'm a bit jaded, but I'm 90% sure the above statement is the truth. I drive 500, 600 and 700+ horsepower cars fairly regularly and 800+ hp cars from time to time. The visceral feeling once you apex the 600HP mark is amazing. The difference between 600 wheel horsepower and 500 wheel horsepower is immense. In a car with a chassis setup to handle 600 wheel horsepower you start getting that roller coaster feeling in your stomach as you accelerate. You don't get that with anything less, in my experience. This all goes out the window if the chassis can't handle the power, though. I've been in 300 wheel horsepower car's that were more terrifying to drive than 700 horsepower cars.

At the end of the day, I understand your perspective and respect your opinion. But, I'm fairly certain I could change the latter.
