It’s ok, neither do most of the people in the tuning thread. I spent like 3 hours on this today (most of which was fumbling through the program) and I’m pretty a lot of people just picked random numbers..

Dynojets read right, not high. If Mustang Dyno’s were the industry standard I may agree with your statement. However they very much aren’t. Also you can alter dyno numbers easily on a Mustang dyno by adjust load and vehicle weight. Which you cannot do on a Dynojet.

    I guess I've been mislead.:notsure:

I had gotten the impression that Mustang dynos were more accurate. My buddy's Sonoma put down somewhere around 470-480 RWHP on a Dynojet, but read lower when it was tuned again on a Mustang. The explanation that I got was that the Dynojets read high. Weird.

It does seem odd that you could adjust those parameters. It seems that vehicle weight shouldn't affect the results of a dyno, since it's not moving while being dynoed.

So, assuming ~15% drivetrain loss, the Supra is making damn near 400 HP? That's WAY better than what they're rated.

Also, the more you realize nobody, I mean nobody, really knows what they're doing. Ask even the best programmers why some of their code works. 100% they will tell you that they don't know how at least some of their code works.

And then .... There's the Westwood team that made Tiberian Sun.

Their "War Stories" series on YouTube is fascinating, talking about developing new compression methods to get fmv sequences into a full game that fit onto a tiny cd (nearly two decades before streaming and online game downloads). Talk about programing wizardry

I won't go big turbo, most likely. I'm going to go with the Pure800 kit from Pure Turbo. Which is a stock housing turbo that's been hogged out and bigger wheels put in. Hopefully I'll get into that next year.

This year I would like to do charge pipe, bigger heat exchanger and cold air intake. Maybe tires, brake pads, stainless brake lines an fluid. But that depends on how many track day's I'm actually able to attend.

I have a question concerning Iowa residents. I just bought my first pistol. Where’s a great firearm safety course I can take. I want to get my concealed license course.

I took mine from Hawkeye firearms instruction (Steve Hensyel) out of Oskaloosa. Most places were doing courses every few weeks before COVID hit.

Looks like his website is currently down. There’s a bunch of instructors throughout the state.
