Then I don't need to stuff my welder in the back of my runner. One day I will have a nice hitch mounted rack for it, but I need to make my rear bumper first.

I am unfamiliar with 2nd gens, so what needs welded? Just a mounting point?

Yeah, I've got a line on one though, and some poly bushings :)

I would need to weld the inner tie rod to the rack, which is what I'll be doing this afternoon/evening.

Yes, but do you really want a car payment again?

Check out these guys. They are the ones who did my '99.

If they are as easy to replace as the 1st gen, I would find one at a salvage yard and put it in yourself. I might do a new rack and they are only about $100 used.

Well then, check it out. As long as you can move your lift over. If not, you can swap out those coil overs and give them to me :D. I'll even pay for the 5100s to replace them.

Heh, you could be so lucky ;) If I were to get a new one I would keep the suspension and install it on the new rig, wouldn't be nearly as tall though.

If this mod day happens it should be this weekend... it's my last weekend in Iowa and I'd like to meet all the central IA TWers before I get out of this godforsaken place :p

Nothing really to do to my truck (I guess I could pull the steering column apart and weld that slip joint up if there's gonna be a welder present) but I'd be happy to help anyone else out. Does the runner have the same issue the tacomas have with the sloppy steering Ryan?

A mod day would be nice. I need to strip a couple wires and figure out why my tail light works, but not the brake light. Must be a break in the wire somewhere. And I still have my stock skid dangling because the bolts are rusted to hell. I need to cut the skid off and weld scrap steel to the bolts to try and twist them out.

Shiiiiiiit loose steering would be the least of my worries. But no, it's not loose like my truck was. But I'm also not lifted yet, and that's when it started to slop more.
