What vehicle requirements? You should meet that other then maybe a first aid kit and I believe CB radio is optional. Are you guys questioning the recovery point requirement?

I know I don't have recovery points that would pass inspection.

Same here. At this point I think it would just benefit me from waiting it out for Billy at Brute Force Fab to finish my bumper and put it on.

CB is optional though? I am wanting to go with HAM radio rather than CB. From what I understand and read about, it is tons better than CB.

I know you mentioned having cheap recovery points on the front of your truck yet. I definately applaud someone for understanding that they need something better for safety reasons.

I know the big thing for them is they don't want recovery points that are relying strickly on welds. They want recovery points that are bolted on or built into the bumper. For the rear if you have a receiver hitch you can use this...

I was there this past fall for Toys for Tots with my 2000 4Runner and didn't have a CB radio. The other guys I took out on the trails with me didn't have CB radio's either. It is something you don't really need. Definately comes in handy when you have one and others in your group have them too. I highly doubt they would turn you away if you didn't have one.

That's good news to my ears. I would rather run the HAM instead. Don't really want to have to run both.

I am sure you will be in the minority with the HAM radio. Cell phone reception on that land is generally poor. It is nice to have a CB radio to communicate with others out on the trails.

I had to do something similar to this after I got the famous strawberry milkshake. I did take it to the shop though to get a flush and change on their machine. Shouldn't be too hard to do what your refering to.

I still have to take care of a few things, but I think we all could do a wrenching day at my shop sometime if y'all want. I can get 2 trucks inside with enough room to work. I have tools to do almost anything. I have to make sure the land owner is okay with it and we have to be mindful of the neighbors of course.

Kinda figured that. Might look into hand held cheaper options then

For all those that were interested in the meet, I posted up the finalized date time and location in the Nebraska thread. The more the merrier!

It's days like today that remind me, if a snow storm like this were to hit the New England area, it would be national news, and the coming of the 4 horsemen. Not in Iowa, no excuses, get to school and work, business as usual!

Hard to tell. The wind blew it all around. I would guess 5"-6" in Ankeny, more the farther south you go.

I think the official tally for the Metro was 5.5, but I had a 3 foot drift in my driveway, it can be like a wind tunnel through there.

Broke a mud flap. Is it just the plastic pins that hold it on or are there screws also?

You ever been pulled over for no flaps or is that not a thing in Iowa? I'm not running any now.
