If you want to rock a full set you can certainly run mine, err the set that is over here. They aren't doing much good leaning up against the wall!

I will more than likely be in the market for bumpers too. In true Toyota fashion the chrome stocker is RUBAR, or at least too rusty to mess with. I can still run it temporarily.

Update. Talked with the land owner and got official approval. A couple of us will be heading down Sunday morning, planning to arrive there around 9am. There will be another group show up later in the morning that we may connect up with. I also confirmed that we will just pay a small usage fee. I was told it should be fairly dry, so it should be a good day for wheeling. We are planning to make it a full day and leaving for home just before sunset. Still room for others to go with. I will have an open seat if anyone is interested in riding along. PM me if your interested. Planning to take my camera and get lots of pictures. ;)

Did you ever go back and get it adjusted how you wanted? I took mine in on Friday to Firestone on Mills Civic and I wonder if they even touched it. My caster is at 1.5 on each side and some numbers never changed. 4Runner seems to drive the same. It felt like it had a slight pull to the driver side and definately a little vibration at times. Firestone mentioned that Axle Clutch and Gear might have specs for lifted trucks. Anyone else heard of this?

Thursday I went to Hill Top Tire to have them look at my tires, which I bought from them. I showed them the last alignment I had at Firestone(July) and we discussed the accuracy(or lack of) of the machines most shops use. Hill Top no longer uses the machines because they feel there is too much allowable tolerance and they can get alignments more accurate not using the machine. HT said if I wanted to bring my 4Runner by after getting an alignment at Firestone(I have the lifetime) they would put it on the rack and check it. Friday I had the alignment done and drove straight to Hill Top in Johnston. Hill Top tire found both front sway bar end links broke and my drivers inner tie rod had too much play. Funny how Firestone never mentioned this! Why would they not see this and notify me? Hill Top took me back in the shop so I could see. One of the techs is an off roader as well so we had plenty to talk about. Hill Top also found that I had a few things off on the alignment. I believe they said the caster was wrong as it should set to match the crown of the road. I think the toe in was off on one side by quite a bit. I am not sure I trust Firestone anymore! I have always trusted Hill Top Tire. What to do now.

I have thought about calling the Firestone shop and complaining, but then I wonder if that would help or hurt. The guy had said they don't offer the lifetime alignment on lifted/modified vehicles. It was lifted when I took it in the first time and that shop(22nd st. Firestone) never asked or said a word about it. So if I call and complain they might tell me they will never align my 4Runner again. (Not so sure I want them to touch though)

Anyway rant over, perhaps some of you can find my information from this experience helpful.

$60 for an alignment at the place I go to in Boone, and they do a nice job. They use the computerized system so I can see the printout. I can go there 3 times for the price of a crappy lifetime at Firestone. They probably would tell me to screw off when I pull up anyway.

Hey I'm happy with my lifetime alignment, the tech that does mine though has a lifted first gen taco though lol. I think that may have a little something to do with it. Idk I'm pretty sure its a case to case kind of thing with them.... I know I won't ever bring mine to any other Firestone though just because they probably will try to jack me around, but that's Ok.

Ive found that firestone is more concerned with trying to find out what they can sell you rather than aligning the truck. That being said, the firestone on euclid seemed to be a little better than the one on 22nd street.

The broken sway bar links should have been spotted. When you replace them make sure the top nut is not overtightened. There needs to be a bit of cushion so the endlinks don't snap too easily.

I would be sure to check the rack guide before replacing the ITRE. I would be willing to bet your ITRE is just fine. Once you lift the TR is forced to travel at an angle which causes the rack rod to be pushed up and down verticall.IMHO a newer style rack guide or an adjustment is a must do mod post lift. Adjustments are only worthwhile on the newest of of 1st gen Tacos , I don't know if 3rd gen runners ever seen the updated rack guide aka yoke.

Excuse the typos I am on my phone.
