iPad in a Tacoma! :-O

It just dawned on me this whole set up might be about as much of a pain in the ass as it is to use your iPhone for music in the truck- every time I want to fast forward to another track, I physically have to pick up the phone, swipe to unlock, and then look and touch the track advance. With my old click wheel iPod, I just reach over without having to take my eyes off the road and click.
Granted, I could get a PAC I suppose, but some of you iPhone owners know exactly what I'm talking about.

 

Yea I know what you mean on that... I have to do the same for my Droid. Though, if I got a car dock (or just a magnet to engage the mode) it would go into never sleep mode (power plugged it wouldn't matter)... then no big deal. I usually just stream pandora or di.fm though... so it rarely bothers me.

True HD, 3g, wi-fi, accepts usb devices, SD card slot, fm radio, messaging, gps.
Useable as a phone as well.

Bigger screen though so fitting might be an issue (11.8).

 

You actually just have to hit the home button twice and it will bring up a track selection screen on the lock screen. No need to unlock.

I've found that shake to shuffle works quite well too.. double-tap home and then shake the thing.. you hear a pretty "doodle-doo" and the next song plays auto-magically

 

Yep, I use that and it is handy. I guess what I way referring to was that you have to physically look to see what you are doing (taking eyes off road) instead of the tactile click of the iPod wheel that you can just feel your way around. I just nee to get an iPod/iPhone cable with dock connector so I can use the steering wheel controls anyway!

Geez can we just drive our friggin' cars?

Why do we need constant entertainment, a latte maker, in-car chat roulette and a robot pedicure machine down by the gas / brake pedal?

How about we just put a blinking strobe light 6" from the drivers face.

I'm terrified to ride a bicycle across town because 1/3 of the cars have women furiously text messaging their friends with 'uh uh she di'nt!", 1/3 have techno geek dudes trying to run gps nav while watching porn on a display on their passenger visor and the other 1/3 are just clueless, learned to drive in a third-world country or just plain never learned to drive at all.

Hell, in Europe you can't even have a drink holder in your car.

Yeah, but they're lame whereas we're totally freakin' awesome which is why we need it.

wow... now make it detachable so you can still use the ipad.
