Looks sick. Does 1st, 3rd or 5th gear hit the iPad though? It looks close in those photos

No, it does not hit. You are right, it's tight, but no contact. Besides, you use 3rd gear?! :D

It doesn't vibrate or move unless I am off road. I have been using the Motion-X HD nav app which has worked great. Even drove across country and back and it worked well.

BTW: This is not my idea. I saw a youtube video of some guy who did this in his car and had the zip ties go through his AC vents. I just modified the idea to work in the Taco.

That my friend is top class! Is it custom or some kind of fit kit? If I could get the fit kit, I would get a second ipad just to leave it in the truck like that.

    That's cool as hell.
However, I only have the WiFi iPad so, not worth doing for me. The other thing I would really miss is the steering wheel controls for the radio.

    Still, great job, neat mod.

Love these installs but I has the 1 so no camera, no music pushed up in it & no data plan. Kudos to Clifford on that clean removable toaster slot action.

The Galaxy Tab has a GPS in it. Maybe it wasn't available when you were looking?

Very cool, OP. I like the idea. I've seen some nice custom in-dash work for iPods as well. I recently saw one where a guy used a Nook Color, which I think is a nice size at 7".
