iPad Mini dash kit

I have an iPad mini dash kit for 2012-2015 Toyota Tacomas. This is using the iPad Mini side-slider kit from Soundman. The iPad is able to slide into a Lightning Cable (not included) to charge and read data, and slide out to be removed. There is a suede backing on the kit to prevent scratches to your iPad.

You can either run this off your stock stereo via Bluetooth or USB if you relocate the stock head unit. Or you can use it with an aftermarket system as long as it has a USB port or Bluetooth.

The dash kit is already fabricated and all you need is an iPad and to swap out your old dash kit. No need to send me yours. Literally plug and play!

Asking $600 (free USPS priority shipping!) as I have put 8+ hours into getting this thing perfect with multiple layers of body filler and sanding. I can leave the kit painted metallic black w/clear coat, or can strip the paint and prime it so you can paint it yourself.

 

Can you still display when a person is calling, the current song playing etc.? Will this be Bluetooth compatible? Is is equally as functional or more functional than th stock dash display? Some questions, cool idea tho! Looks mighty sharp

 

The stock deck would allow you to do this no problem. It would just treat the iPad as a USB connected device, and return to music when the phone call is done. The aftermarket deck I'm using works the same. I tether it off my phone's LTE data plan and use it to stream from Spotify, Pandora, YouTube (I do not condone this while driving lol). I also use the Waze app and the iOS Maps app for navigation.

If you can't tether from your phone's data plan, you will need to store music locally on your iPad, or use an iPad that has a data plan.

Sorry, I misread your question. The iPad does not show who is calling, you have to look at your phone to see that (I have a magnetic vent mount for my phone so it's not an issue for me.) It shows current song via Spotify/Pandora, and can connect to your deck via Bluetooth or USB.

Waaaaaay more functional than the stock deck.

It doesn't, sorry. You can either find a deck with Bluetooth and skip the slide in charging, or find a deck with USB and epoxy set the charging cable.

how did you like the Sony remote app? I have personally didn't care for it. I've been using CarPlayIOS and Car Mode as my main dashnbord.
