Did you figure out what your price point is going to be on these or did I maybe miss it already somewhere?

Wait before you answer that haha let me say that it's gonna cost about $60-$100 just in materials depending on what setup you are going for (fiberglass, bondo, initial double din dash kit purchase, paint, super glue, abs plastic, felt, sandpaper, tape, lightning pin charger, adapters, line out put converter, and hydrographics process including film activator and time to do that) so please don't tell me you guys are expecting a $100 custom dash kit bc I'd rather put my Weiner in a meat grinder :D

I believe you said earlier around 650 with the iPad included. That would make the kit around 200 by itself. I think that would be a fair price with the dock connector and hinges, etc.. based off a regular double din kit.

I dunno what your time and materials investment is though...

That was 1. Before I started to build this bastard and
    2. Before apple dropped the ball on the 16 and 32gb iPad minis as they are pretty much non existent other than on eBay and the 16 gb is going for more than the 32 gb is new! Crazy idiots! I'm thinking $250-$300 honestly but it depends on how many people will commit as the more people initially the less I can make them for bc I can do multiple at a time but when production slows down ill have to build one by one which will suck haha so when I'm ready ill put a list together like a group buy and price accordingly I guess

Dropped the ball on 16gb and 32gb minis? What do you mean?

They are readily available at normal prices from Apple, the 16gb wifi is the cheapest available, and all models show a 1-week lead time. Regardless of iPad availability I'm not really sure how that effects pricing of a dash kit.

Lightning connectors and accessories are also getting cheaper as more 3rd Party manufacturers bring products to market.

So really, I think it's a question of time required, which you mentioned was more than you estimated (understandable) but do you have an accurate build time estimate without all the R&D? I mean this first one isn't even finished yet...

I work for at&t, and our 16gig iPad mini's with 4g have been pushed out to 14-21 business day ship time... They're not easy to come by...

Yeah that's fine.. But you can still get them. And I don't see how it would effect price.

Not trying to be a dick, just trying to understand...

No butthurt here... I think he was just talking about including everything (mini and dash kit) all for one price, so if mini's were more expensive that would effect it... But I would love just a price on the dash kit, and then I could buy my own mini...
