Im running into some walls here. I think im going to put the radio AND the ipad mini in the dash ipad on top of my sony single din. This will help with quality of sound and ease of uae for the tuner and cd function. Im also going with the verizon embedded tablet and adding it to my bill for $10 a month. Any input? Would anyone else do an embedded tablet??

That's what I would do... I mean I currently have unlimited data on my iPhone on att, and I would forfeit that if I was able to get an ipad mini with data connection. My data usage on my phone would drastically drop so I could afford to lose it and gimme some good data usage on my tablet...

Plus I get 50% off my bill working for the company! w00t!!

Man this is becoming a nightmare and now im having buyers remorse before i even buy it! What if i hate it? An embedded tablet will be quite a bit harder to get rid of than a non embedded tablet! Im not concerned with the dash ive decided to take the easy route and pull the entire dash out with drawer type sliders in order to pull the mini out from the side and if i put the deck in it will pull out as well......thoughts?

This way it will look entirely factory with no cuts to the dash piece!!

The problem with the hinged idea would be a guge gap on the side the hinge was on so the dash piece could turn to get the tablet out.....and if i slipped one hair with the dremel it would ve re glass and start over!! Im not THAT good!! Haha im used to building big boxes and stuff with glass not little tiny thibgs like this its a lot more tedious!!

I'm confused, are you planning on permanently putting it in there, or using the drawer type of system and being able to take the tablet out when you get out of the truck?

So I hacked and I hacked with no luck so I fiber glasses the entire dash kit and bondo'd it to start with a solid dash piece it's just a nightmare! I wish I could buy a blank dash kit with no holes and it would be a friggin cake walk! Bc the aftermarket dash kits whether single or double din the holes that are cut are too big so you have to fill them in just to turn around and cut them a hair smaller! But I want my shit to look right when it's done soooo.......
