Recently got an iphone 11, been noticing that bluetooth will drop mid call. Not necessarily sure if its a problem with the iphone or the system info in the Tacoma. Anyone else experiencing similar issues with their iphone 11?

    Thanks

Have had no problem whatsoever with my Android phone, so yeah probably the iPhone. Did you have problems with a prior version/model?

Nope. Had the iphone 7 with no problems. Just happened after the switch. Just didn't know if other Taco owners were having the same problem with their iphone 11s.

I've had BT problems from day one with my iPhone 8. I'll hit the answer button on the steering wheel, and the phone continues to ring/vibrate. It'll eventually answer on the phone itself, but not through the truck speaker. I've also had to drop BT connection after hanging up from a call (that I initiated).

My service tech says it's an iPhone issue, because they keep changing the BT coding in each iOS release. I say that's bullshit, because my wife has never had the first issue in her Volvo, and that's over a 2 year period of iOS releases, and going from an 8 to an X.

My wife's highlander doesn't have any issues when on calls, but her connection to any music itself is messed up. It will play from her phone for 5 minutes before it decides to move into bluetooth mode, even after she's used bluetooth for a call before.

I’m having problems with the iPhone 11 and the heady it also. As soon as the phone connects to Bluetooth the heady it keeps reseating over and over until you disconnect the phone. All updates have been and on both the iPhone and the headunit

I view Entune and Toyota Safety Sense in the same light.

About 10 years behind every other manufacturer in design and capabilities.

I noticed my head unit decided to reset mid drive today 2-3 times and then afterwards it didn't recognize my phone until i restarted my car.

Just recently started having problems in the Tacoma and the Highlander.
It’s been going on for the last couple of weeks.
Calls are dropping after a few min, headunit won’t let you re-dial, forced to use handset mode if you try to call the person back, and it’s still displaying the call as active long after you’ve hung up.
2 different cars, 2 different iPhones, 2 different headunits. Both iPhone xs, same iOS versions, and no issues for the last year since we got new phones.
It’s got to be some kind of software issue with iOS/entune.

Not just phone not connecting. I mean it’s defiantly a factor, but compared to other headunits out there that come stock in other vehicles, the one in the Tacoma is sub par at best. I like the form of it but not the functionality

Oh, okay, it just sounded like you were going to replace the head unit for that problem. Makes sense.

I just started having issues in the last month myself. I am not sure if it is just coincidental that I started Spotify. Anyway, I lose BT connections almost daily now.

I've seen several threads related to this, although this is the first I've seen regarding the 11. I have a 17 Tacoma and my wife has 19 Highlander, and we have no issues whatsoever with our Android phones. I'm not trying to make this an Android vs. iPhone issue, use whatever you want, it just seems like the common and root issue is solely with the iPhone on a majority of these connection issues. Just interested in knowing if any Android users experience any of the same issues. If not, well, then Toyota and Apple should do more coordinating, or iPhone users should be asking Apple why their $1500 phones can't seem to maintain BT connectons.

No issues with Spotify, iTunes or playing any other music whatsoever, just with the phone calls.
I thought it was the headunit and coincidental that I started having problems right about the time the warranty was to expire, but we are having the same problems in our highlander as well.

Updating your system will resolve the connectivity issue.

I just got an 11 Pro on Friday. I have only had/made a few calls, but no problems, so far.
