So I thought I was the only one having this issues since updating my phone’s iOS. I did other’s suggestion, forgetting device on HU and on the phone. Still rebooting every minute.

I have now had two iPhone 11 pros (i dropped the first one and got it replaced for free) and have noticed they both drop calls while connected to Bluetooth but the call will still continue on the phone just not the truck.

Havent had any problems with my 2019 Taco BT until iOS 13.1 was released...now i'm having problems with my iphone 10 and 10r connecting to BT and via hardwire (usb). when on BT my head unit continuously crashes and restarts until i remove my phone from being paired. When i try the hardwire I can see the phone is "connected" but doesnt transmit sound thru the car. Ready to gut oem headunit. Apparently Integration testing is dead ? Idiot at the dealer hasnt updated his iphone 7 since nam so it obviously worked. He also was able to connect w/ android so thinking this problem is specific to newer iphones

Just got off phone with Toyota Cust Care. They are aware of IOS 13 issues. They had me go into the entune settings and delete all personal info.
So basically set everything back to stock on the head unit. as well as delete toyota tacoma from the bluetooth list on the phone ("forget this device")
Rebooted the head unit and re paired the phone. seems to have worked for now.
Supposedly apple will release another update to fix this.

    I am reporting back in.
I have latest iPhone update 13.1.3 and the issue is still there. I too have completely reset HU and phone doing forget phone/bt device etc and issue remains. Just as others have stated mine will lose bt connection and call will revert back to iPhone or completely just drop call. Also when this happens occasionally there is no way to reestablish bt connection without pulling over and turning ignition off and restarting vehicle (less than ideal on the highway NOT SAFE).

*THIS IS AN ISSUE WITH APPLE, NOTHING TO DO WITH TOYOTA. My wife has an iPhone 8plus and no problems, granted she hates upgrading to the latest software due to issues etc. I have an iPhone10 and after the latest update is when I started having issues.

But did you go in to headunit settings and hit "delete all personal data"? That was the key step.

I got fed up and put the beta (iOS 13.2 beta 3) on and the bluetooth drop to the Tacoma is finally gone! It's fixed! I haven't tried 13.2 beta 4 yet, I believe 13.2 regular (not beta) is coming out tomorrow, so hopefully everyone will be fixed.

I've been having the same issue since July 2019 (IOS12/Iphone XS) on my 2017 TRD Sport with Entune. While streaming music from Spotify the Bluetooth connection is strong. But if I make a call or receive a call, between the first 30 seconds and 2 minutes max the call drops automatically. If I receive a second or third call, the Bluetooth connection is stopped, disconnects from the head unit but the call continues on the iphone itself. I have to come into a complete stop, turn off the Bluetooth on my phone and connect the device again. Also, I have noticed if I want to end a call using the steering wheel buttons or on the head unit. They don't respond, unless I tap the iphone screen to wake up and the signal to drop the call is recognized.

I think its an Iphone hardware/software issue. I did a test with my wife iphone xs and no calls were dropped.

I am running IOS 13.2 and the issue persist.

I have exactly the same problems. The truck is two weeks older then the IOS 13 release. As soon as the update came out nothing has worked right. Had a bunch of geeks try everything and not one improvement. Toyota sent the dealer a new radio Friday and was installed Saturday, still same problem. 13.1.3 update went in this am and "Nada". I have to turn phone off and then back on to stop the rebooting. Answering a call, its a crap shoot whether its Bluetooth or a handset answer.
However my iPhone SE and my wife's 11 work fine with her Hyundai Apple Play with both phones updated.

I'm still okay @ 13.1.2, but updated to 13.2. I've not been on a long call for some time (just some quick back and forth with family members) so maybe I'm jumping the gun on saying it's all good.

Mine still fails with 13.2. Anywhere between 2 and 5 minutes per call, then it will just return to the radio and the call will revert to the handset. Have to restart truck to get it to work again (for 2-5 minutes).

one step closer to a kenwood

11 Pro Max on 13.3. 1-2 minutes on a call then it reboots. Appointment at the dealer tomorrow for this. Going to have to budget quicker for the Alpine I want to get.

The Alpine in my other car works flawlessly with my phone, so I'm guessing it is Toyota's issue, or whomever makes their factory stereos.

I hope the dealer works for you, have a feeling they’ll blame it on apple and vice versa.

I have the same feeling... I'm just wanting it documented so if I ever get a bug I can try and escalate it with Toyota America.

Just putting it out there again, but did everyone go into their head units and "delete all personal data"? it completely fixed the issue for me.
    1. unpair the phone. 2. go into the entune and delete the phone. 3. go into entune settings and find "delete all personal data" - hit delete. (from what i can infer your basically restoring the phone and entune unit back to before they met each other, just un-pairing / re-pairing doesnt work because the headunit stores info from your phone in it.) 4. go into phone and delete the tacoma from bluetooth list( hit "forget this device") 3. reboot entune, re-pair phone. these are the steps i took while on the phone with toyota headquarters.

i just edited my post. forgot to say that you also have to "forget this device" in the iPhone as well. then re-pair.

To say this is Apple’s fault is only partially correct. When any developer makes software that interacts with phones they have a responsibility to update their software as well when Apple releases updates. The vendor toyota chose is horrible. And Toyota has been ridiculously slow to respond to these issues. the first issue i experienced was in septemver 2017 just months after buying my 2017 tacoma. The system rebooted over and over when making calls. Toyota took their time doing anything. Multiple trips
To the dealership and nothing. Finally in July 2018 they sent a field the from denver. He pulled the logs from the stereo. A month later he called and acknowledged it was a software compatibility they would have to patch. January 2019 they finally released a patch and it was fixed. Now this happened and again they want to blame apple. Apple releases its updates software to developers months ahead of time so developers who make software that interact with Apple’s can test and work out their bugs before the software is released to the public. This vendor does not do that. They are completely reactive and move at a snail’s pace. Furthermore it takes toyota forever to do anything to respond to these situations. Last week I took the truck in and showed them this issue. They acknowledged the issue of calls that are being disconnected since IOS 13 and later told me a field tech would be sent out to pull logs again in a month. A MONTH! my bluetooth system disconnects and in many cases now hangs up on calls. My bluetooth is unreliable and now I have to hold my phone while making calls and talk over speaker. Meanwhile I am driving a vehicle that has its original bumper to bumper warrant since I have owned the vehicle less than 3 years and an extended warranty for up 7 years and NEITHER warranty is fixing this issue. Total time I have owned this vehicle and enjoyed bluetooth working is about 8 months out of the 30 months I have owned it. I drive rental cars for business travel all the time and have never experienced these compatibility issues with any other stereo. Ever. And toyota has had so many issues with this head unit and software they had to switch to a head unit that supports car play in their 2020 tacomas. The complete sh*t show this has been to own a toyota and deal with them on this issue has been ridiculous and the only way left to deal with this is to dump the truck and sell it. I will not buy a nee head unit because it is ridiculous I should spend more money to remedy a situation when Ive already spend 40k on the truck and 1500 on an extended warranty, and sit here with a broken bluetooth connection for the majority of my truck ownership. After 4 Toyotas and 20 years of being a toyota owner, how they have handled this situation has caused me to end my relationship with toyota as a customer.
