iPhone 13 Pro is not charging

I preordered the 13 pro and it arrived today. The lenses are larger and the case is different than the 12 Pro. The phone does not sit flat, and it think that's the reason why it is not charging on the charging mat in the truck. I will try it without the apple silicon case on tomorrow. Anyone else try yet, or have luck with any other cases?

 

I thought the 12s weren’t charging when they were released either?

 

iPhone 13? Damn I’m like 3 generations behind lol.

 

I just went from an 8 to a 12 mini, and now I'm out of date in a matter of a month. Oh well.

New phones tend to have issues with charging, be patient and maybe an update will come along.

 

As you can tell I never buy the newest phones. I’ll shop around for an iPhone 11 since it’ll be cheap.

 

My 12 won’t charge with the case on.

 

Are they supposed to charge without being hard-connected ?

 

The phone has to be flat on the pad with a thin case. It’s useless anyway since is so low wattage. It’ll take three days to charge on that thing. Just plug it in

 

This was my plan as well until I read that they discontinued the iPhone 11. Well the for sure discontinued the 11 pro max which was what I wanted to upgrade to. Apple claims that they are loosing sales for the iPhone 12 so they discontinued the 11. Guess I’ll keep my iPhone 8 until the battery completely dies.

 

I have a 10r it won’t charge with the case I have otter box . I use the plug all the time so I can use the apple CarPlay .since apple CarPlay is not wireless.

 

Mine doesnt charge either lol. I have the 12 pro max

 

I don't think it's your phone. I have an iphone SE that basically just gets hot but doesn't charge, same with every other phone we've tried on it, case or no case.... Just another thing Toyota didn't get quite right .

 

That's not specific to Toyota. There's no way to vent the waste heat from the wireless charger. Due to it being a generic wireless charger it isn't very high wattage to begin with

 

I have the 13 pro too. Mine charges, but will be intermittent cause the case it has a camera protector and doesn't sit flat.

 

People actually use that charger???

 

You’re not outdated at all, as long as you can get updates, you’re good.

 

I just got my 13 pro and put a Speck presidio 2 mag safe case on it and it seems to charge normal.

 

For me it's the camera bump/wart preventing it from lying flat. 13mini here: and it doesn't work with the charging mat in the Tacoma.. or my home charging stations, suspect the angle created by the cameras is bigger the smaller the phone, the case I use has a camera protecting lip which is clearly making matters worse. Price of progress I guess.

 

Sounds like a shitty charger. My 11 pro charges fine on good charger, even through my thicc credit card case.

 

Apple also makes a leather case with an extended version of the wireless charger built in. You may want to look into that.

Look into mag safe cases because regular cases will only defeat the purpose of wireless charging.
