other than the obvious differences between android and iOS, iphone 4 has dual cameras (1 is front facing) and a camera flash which captivate has neither. both are good though so I'd suggest playing with both at the att store.

also check reviews online from cnet, howardforums, etc

I tried an Android phone (X10). Android is no where as good as the iPhone OS. I upgraded my iPhone 3G to the X10 and one month later I sold ghe X10, took a $75 loss, and bought the iPhone 4. I don't know what I was thinking but I'll stick with iOS for some time now.

    Cheers.

front facing camera vs no front facing camera
apple app store vs adroid martket vs blackberry app store
    ipod vs generic media players
ipod integration in almost anything vs none
user replaceable battery vs built in battery
glass & steel body vs plastic

I have an iTouch, and the girlfriend has the iPhone 3gs. Mine is jailbroke, hers isn't. I'll be honest, these are my favorite devices I have ever used. The iPhone is awesome. Good reception, the GPS works awesome, there's literally TONS of accessories out there for it. Soon as my Sprint contract expires I'm getting an iPhone and switching to AT&T.

Had the i4 and was not satisfied really, took it back a couple days later and got the captivate and I love it.

....plus the sales clerk kept trying to force me to keep the iphone so I trade just to piss him off lol

this seems to be a pretty good review. i had never heard of captivate till just now. i was just thinking the other day how i would love something just like an iphone 4, except for with the android OS. I think the captivate might be just the phone for me. I previously had a samsung impression that i really liked. The impression is a very very tough phone. one of my friends managed to run hers over with her taurus and it still worked. screen was cracked and it eventually died months later, but i still find that amazing.

but i might just get the iphone purely because of itunes, and the fact that it's compatible with everything. especially car head units.

The Iphone4 is pretty sick but i've gotten tired of the touch screen. I'd rather have a physical keyboard but i'm not a fan of BB.
