download to a easy to get to folder.
when its downloaded, open itunes and plug in your phone
do a sync/backup

hold down the shift button and click on the CHECK FOR UPDATE button
locate the IPSW file click open and off it goes.

If you have windows and the file becomes a zip file the fix is easy.
Click on the start button, control panel, open the FOLDER OPTIONs tab.
When the window pops up click on the VIEW tab
Uncheck HIDE EXTENSIONS FOR KNOWN FILES
Click APPLY then OK
file the file again, right click, rename, and remove the .zip at the end.
repeat the procedure starting from >>>

it took me 4 minutes to start installing.

It's gonna be for both. The white ones sold out here in where I live so fast that I had to just preorder the black one. They sold out the day preorders started! Fucking crazy!

 

nice, we dont have it yet, not even preorders, but my guess is when we do its gonna be unaffordable for me.... these things are expensive down here

im gonna pay around 120 bucks for a 3gs 16gb, and a 24 month plan with 200 min and unlimited internet for around 60 a month dang....

im still doubting to get it, because i kinda like the phone to have a good camera...

 

wow, yeah, well service is kind of expensive down here, this plan has 6 numbers to call for free the first 5 minutes...

Apple has not sold any White iPhone 4 yet.

The white iPhone 4 will come in 16 and 32 gb but will not go on sale until later this summer.

 

The iPhone 4's are shipping now. We had 7 trailer loads go through the FedEx morning sort at DFW. They were all labeled for Wednesday delivery, so some of you who ordered will get them a day early. I bet Apple won't like that!!

 

I don't understand why it's taking so long for other people. Mine was good to go in about 10 minutes.



Then again, I installed literally the minute is released. Score.

I know that the iPhone4 is on the 3G network. IF AT&T develops a 4G network like Verizon, do you think current smart phones like the iPhone on the 3G network will be able to be upgraded to the faster network?

The last thing I want to do is jump on a new iPhone, then miss out on a being able to get on an AT&T 4G network.

 

I think if AT&T were to launch a 4G network, I don't think it would be a "hey guys, we have 4G now!", I think there would be an announcement about it, then an actual launch date a long ways after that.

 

Hey does anybody know if it is even going to be possible to get one on release date without having a preorder? From what i have read, the best bet would be to try an att store and camp out wednesday night.
