Just a heads up to those of you looking to ditch your older iPhones - Gazelle.com is legit.

I sent them my iPhone 4 16GB on AT&T and I rated it as "Perfect" condition even though it had very minor wear on tear on the sides from the rubber case it was in its entire life. They sent me a prepaid shipping label and box to pack it in. Dropped it in our daily FedEx pickup at the office and called it a day.

Two days later I had an e-mail saying they agreed it was perfect and that $200 would be in my PayPal account within a week. The next day it was deposited and I withdrew it.

    Fantastic place to deal with.

The value of the 4 is dropping dramatically but the 4S can still get nearly $300. I'm sure that will drop considerably right around the time the new iPhone is coming out, but either way, it's MUCH easier than selling on eBay or Craigslist - they are both saturated with them.

I thought it was total bullshit. There are so many of them out there.

Usell.com is like a broker for a lot of them. It shows you what you can get for your phone from them at that very moment. Gazelle was $30 higher than the best offer on there.

I was truly shocked at how easy and legit it was. I was so nervous from the moment I put the phone in the drop-off to the time I got the money in my PayPal.

I will definitely be selling to these guys again.

What's even crazier is two days after I sent my phone in (about a week after I got the offer from them, which they give you right away based off your description of the condition) the price dropped to a max of $170 for perfect, $150 for good, etc...

They still honored the price they offered me the day I requested the quote. I was convinced they would either say it wasn't in perfect condition and give me the "Good" price, or they would say it was perfect, but the value has dropped.

I promise, I'm not being paid to say this stuff...I'm truly still shocked by the whole experience.

I"ve sold a couple of devices on there, fast and easy. But you can still get way more for them on E-Gay. Yes a tad more trouble but just saying.

I'm still on the iPhone 3. It lives in an oxygen tent at night and runs for approximately 15 seconds between charges. Come on, iPhone 5...

I had mine on eBay for like four months at $250 and no bites at all. Same with Craigslist.

I assume it's because the market is so saturated with them now that the 4S is out and the 5 is coming up.

The best way is run a one day auction, (cause think about it, no one is looking back 25 pages to see the same thing over and over again) and no reserve. For the most views, have it end on a Sunday evening, when people are off and traffic is very high on the Bay.

I'm not going to get the 5 since the 6 will be out very shortly after and so on. I'll just keep holding out so I can always get the latest and greatest. :frusty:
