I have been one of those plagued by the iPhone text msg issues not being read when they appear. I have made it a habit on longer trips to turn airplane mode on and then off which seems to address the issue until the next ignition off and restart.

Since my update to iOS last week the problem has disappeared. I now get my texts available to be read without my airplane mode toggling / workaround. I know some people were reporting some new issues with their iPhone and Entune but I have not experienced any negatives and everything that was an issue is now fixed at least for me.

I still get issues when playing music over lightning cable versus Bluetooth. My unit will reset fully whenever it decides it wants to on wire versus Bluetooth. I have resorted to starting music via Bluetooth then connecting my lightning cable afterwards to mitigate crashes.

Did you guys do the entunes iOS update as well? I think it was available a day or two ago. I'm on iOS 11.0.2 right now, with no problems and using the 8+. It's cool to use the wireless charger built in the truck but it's soooo soooo slow compared to my wireless chargers at home. Like it's terribly slow lol.

Oh and I also got the latest Entune update at the dealership the other day at my maintenance appointment. I got to see how they did it, a combination of turn the wiper speed up and down several times while pressing the audio button (I believe). The first time it totally froze my unit and my functions on the steering wheel, second time was the charm though.

Hmm looks like the entune app did update last night. I will report back in the next few days if this fixes any issues. I have serviced my truck recently but they did not advise of updating of software on the entune unit, seems like anything wrong with this truck I have to ask the dealership to do because they are too busy service vehicles all the time.

EDIT: after some research...I need to make sure I am logged into my entune app and connect my phone. On the apps screen there should just be an update application available on the head unit itself. I will report back after work if this fixes.

Ive been having problems with Spotify bluetooth connectivity. It glitches and will start playing songs from my itunes even though the itunes app is not even open...very annoying. also theres no way of changing any default media player or connectivity settings. I prefer using bluetooth over the cable to play music.

Anyone experiencing issues using Spotify and the entune system?

Everytime I get back into my truck after being away from it, it automatically connects to my phone and starts playing Spotify but it doesn't play correctly. It'll play in short 2 seconds bursts, in fast forward basically so you can't understand the words.

Only way to correct it is to turn bluetooth off then back on each time.

That use to happen to me when I was on iOS 10.something.. If I hit pause, then play from the headunit, it would fix the issue.

I'm on 11.1 developer beta and it is working fine. How do you know if you have the latest Entune HU firmware? Does this have to be updated at the dealership? I purchased my truck this July, did it come out after that? FWIW I don't have the Entune iOS app, is the update through there?

I'm not 100% but I think you need to have the Entune app because it requires your phone data to be able to download OTA updates. You'll need your VIN to register and sign into Entune app.

I've had 3, maybe 4 updates since I got my truck in late January. A notification will pop up on the HU about 30 secs after you start the truck and then takes about a min or two to complete the update. The release notes are not descriptive at all.

Surely, just putting my kids to bed and I’ll go out to the truck and get it.

Yeah there are entune head unit updates only done at dealership and there are entune app updates that the iOS and android app pushes out to the apps on the head unit, as well as the actual Entune app itself. Lol Sorry I know it sounded confusing.

Thanks, so I'm assuming the iOS sourced updates are smaller firmware updates while the dealer updates are the more robust ones? When I am in map mode, my map is pretty jerky (movement wise, not rude :goingcrazy:) , I think I've seen that there is an update that smooths it out?

Sorry for the late response. The latest entune head unit update I got is “Audio 01018C”. The change log says “Fixed some features for better use”. Lol, what excellent detail smh.

I never installed the entune app after reading a lot of negative feedback about it. Exactly what, I don't remember, but I never did. What are the main perks?

So is your map jerky or is it smooth?
