I think what Viet is trying to say is that you can't get buy a sim card and put it in for international use. When I go to Vietnam I usually buy a sim card over there in use it in my phone, I get a Local Vietnam number and it's WAY cheaper to call than using your service provider.

LTE (Long Term Evolution) will be Verizon Wireless' version of a 4G data network.

It is not the phone that decides if it can transmit data and voice simultaneously, it is the network.

WhatThePho?, when I go to Vietnam, I just turn off my cellular signal, connect to Wi-Fi, and use Skype :)

I just bit on the iPhone 4 for AT&T and renewed my contract after several years of floating. No carrier is perfect, and when Verizon has as many vocal iPhone users on their network you'll hear an equal number of complaints.

I live in a population-dense area and so the iPhone and AT&T work great here.

Seeing the third gen section forced me to get a Ford...
i have at&t for my personal and a BB on verizon for work and they both suck ass signal wise where i live now. i've never had an issue w/ cingular/at&t until this, but this also goes for verizon service. i'll never get into the "new and improved" trendy POS phones no matter who services them

Ahahaha that video made me laugh. You guys know what were popular before the iPhone? Blackberries. And even then, not everyone had one (they weren't free, they were at least $200+ with a contract). Everyone that was able to get an iPhone, got one. Just like iPods. Those that couldn't (company phones, under parents' plan, or couldn't just afford it) settled for iPhone wannabes. Starting from the garbage excuse of a smart phone, the LG Voyager, then the Samsung Instinct, Instinct S30, Instinct HD (2), the HTC G1, then the Blackberry Storm, and let's not forget about the Palm Pre. How many people do you know got one (or a few) of these phones and soon hated them? I hated dealing with those phones. Customers would come back in complaining to us that it is a shitty phone. All I could tell them is that they are stuck with that contract and have the option to go back to their previous phone.

Here is the origin of the iPhone. It came from the iPod. Apple did not claim to make the first MP3 player. They are known to take an idea, and make it better. And then people rush in to buy them as if it is brand NEW technology. The Android OS is essentially an open version of the iPhone OS. When you allow free reign, there are security issues. That is why the iPhone is more likely to move into the enterprise business, vs the Androids.

Don't get me wrong, I have used all of the Android phones, and they're great. But, my iPhone is reliable.

BTW, higher megapixels means absolutely nothing when it comes to pictures.

Hopefully plenty will flock from AT&T and my service will get better.

Does 4G mean data and voice simultaneously for Verizon?

What's the difference between them? (3G and 4G)

I'm illiterate to the whole data thing anyway - but it seems everywhere the phone companies advertise 3G this, 3G that and now its 4G this and 4G that -
Does 3G and 4G mean the same thing to all the carriers?

Has anyone actually gone into a Verizon store and asked them about the iphone? If they don't know about it yet....and act dumbfounded, chances are...this is all a hoax. I can't imagine they'd keep it a secret on purpose.

i asked. and he said they will come to verizon eventually. verizon is working on getting its 4G service up(faster than 3g and edge) so that when they make an iphone 4g they will be able to market it.

The only difference I can find is speed between the two and it means the same to all carriers, with 4g being a lot faster.

4G is a newer kind of connection for mobile devices. It is faster and some carriers are offering it with unlimited use, vs. the cap that the 3G plans have. Some phones are capable of only 3G, others are capable of 4G and 3G.
