IPhone coming to verizon

Yes, it is my opinion. But I base that opinion on the fact that I only know one person who has an iphone, and, off the top of my head, 14+ people who own an Android based phone. I also know that I won't own an iphone for the foreseeable future, because there isn't any reason too. That's not to say I never will, but they would have to bring out something that was way better than the competition. That isn't going to happen though, their window of domination has ended. When the first iphone came out it was relatively unique, and didn't have any competition. Now it's a competitive field, and you can't honestly say that the iphone is that much better than any of the other big name phones out there - Evo, Incredible, Droid. I'm not saying its at the bottom, but it isn't far and away the best (like it used to be.)

I guess that is a good way to form opinions because you obviously have 0 business sense. If you would base your facts that Google is down around 5% on the year and Research in Motion is down over 15%, oh and Apple is up around 30% over the last 12 months, you would realize that their window of domination is far from over, it might actually be just getting started.

 

Sorry if I pissed in your Appleflakes, but I was actually basing my "window of domination has ended" comment on the fact that they have consistently lost market share since the release of the android OS. If you consider "domination" as equally sharing the marketplace, then yeah, they are totally dominating!

 

You didn't piss in my appleflakes, I am not an apple fanboy by any stretch. Sure they have lost some marketshare. Android phones have been released on 4 or more major carrier networks to iPhones one network. If apple was to be released on sprint, verizon, alltel, and all the other networks android was on they would kill them. You said yourself you waited for 4 years for an iPhone.

 

If this iPhone to verizon rumor is true, I guarantee you that iPhone will outsell all other verizon phones within 1 year.

 

If Verizon gets the iPhone, I will be moving to them. AT&T is very bad in my area contrary to their service coverage map.

I wouldn't hold your breath on this. Verizon's CEO already has alluded that any possibility that Verizon would team up with Apple is pretty much dead.

Once the novelty of an iphone wears off, it's not that great. I enjoy the wifi/cell service to get info whenever you need it...kinda like any pda/smart phone now a days. I heard better things about the droid recently. I'm sick of paying att for stuff i dont use. Plus my rollover minutes are expiring? WTF.... Eventually i'll go back to a regular phone and keep this as an itouch.

 

Interesting, I'll be hoping and praying that they join up though...

I take this comment to mean it is coming. If he said it was coming then his android christmas sales would be down, as the apple is rumored to launch in January. There's too much smoke around this whole story for it not to be true. It is coming...

Using your friend's iPhone every now and then would not give you enough credibility to say it "sucks." It has not worked the way you would like it to because you did not own one.

You just said the "iPhone sucks", not the carrier it is on.

I am not, by any means, defending the iPhone. I would just like to hear more educated responses since I work in this field.
