Jake, why don't you wait until the iPhone 5 comes out this summer?

I have used both and I feel iOS on the iPhone 4 is a much smoother easier to use interface than Android OS.

I am one of those people who will root / jailbreak my device within the first week of ownership and I have been very satisfied recently with my current iPhone 4 setup.

    I recommend:
iPhone 4 running iOS 4.2.1 (or 4.2.3 on verizon) jailbroken

    JB must have apps include:

MyWi 4 (create a WiFi hotspot)
SBsettings & Activator (user interface tweaks)
Installious (download any App Store app for free)
    BiteSMS 5.1 (great SMS app)
LockInfo with weather (customize your lock screen)
    FakeClockUp (watch this video)

Wait for the Iphone 5 brotha! You'll be happier this way. And if you become unhappy with it, you can sell it and buy 3 Android phones of your liking!

I have a Droid, girlfriend has a iPhone 3GS. I honestly think the iPhone is a far better peice of equipment. It's easier to use and faster. Just my opinion though.

    Im getting there......
    hey man,
you sound like you know about phones. I got a droid x a month back, and i like it a lot i just am wondering if and how i should root it. Ive lloked at android forums but it is to complicated what they say over there.
    basically,

    1. should I root it? benefits?
    2. should i keep android 2.2 or get a new operating system (ie liberty, or some of the others)
    3. i know the phone is more configurable rooted but is it easy to change stuff or do you need extensive code knowledge.

    .
    . . . . iPhone 5 . . . .

We went back to Apple (after many software & compatibility issues) on all of our electronics because Apple is so seamless and simple.

I have an iPhone 3GS and I love it ... but AT&T sucks big time and I will leave them as soon as I can.

One thing that I do like not about Verizon is their CDMA technology. AT&T is GSM and that is pretty much the world standard.

If Verizon was GSM, I would drop AT&T in a heartbeat and wait to get an iPhone 5.

PS ... Androids are great, but I do not need that flexibility (writing code & etc.).

(CNN) -- After years of anticipation, relatively few people waited in line Thursday morning to buy the new Verizon Wireless iPhone 4, according to anecdotal reports.
Fifteen minutes before the phone went on sale, eight people were in line at Apple's flagship store in New York, according to CNNMoney. Down the street, about a dozen people waited in line at a Verizon Wireless store.

I found this interesting.. I thought there would have been a bigger turnout. I guess the majority of people are waiting for the 4G version.
