why would you ask this if all you junk is mac?
I am all mac and would even consider scamdroid.

It is all about integration and you of all folks should know that.

Music, photos, apps, etc... android works only with android stuff and that is it.

    Why create a head ache.

Not knocking android, but it is what it is. 3 years behind iPhone, but it will get there.

Itunes converts to MP3's and all of our music is in MP3 format.

We keep the files organized manually so we have more control over it versus letting itunes organize it.

I guess I was more worried about the library & playlists. For the most part, the entire music collection is in the library but some items aren't *checked*.
My husband and I run two computers, two itunes/libraries, one file source.

I don't know the details...as my husband did the research. I'm sure there are strings attached and from what I've seen.....you have to pay a fee to enroll in the buyback program. More info

If the iphone 5 is something you 'gotta have' - then this option still might be cheaper than just buying one outright. You just gotta weigh the options/pricing.

My opinion is Android. I have not read all the replies and some of my comments may be a repeat.

Android you can "root" and install your own roms and other software.
Apple You can not - you can jailbreak but its not the same.
Android - you can remove the battery
Androids Gingerbread operating system is supposed to be slick.
Battery life on Iphone is a bit better.

I am not certain what carrier you are but (for me) AT&T sucks. I realize that the phone recently was released to work on Verizon but I hear negative reportds on the devices on this network as well.

I personally own a Droid X. The BEST phone I have owned to date.

(my opinion of course) Anyhow just my 2 cents.. have phone on your decision
