That looks like a Ford Econoline Van dash. Never understood why people take 12v/DV, convert to 110v/AC with inverter only to convert back to 6/8/12v/DC for chargers, total waste of power.

No, you're quite right. Wired/direct audio generally will be superior to bluetooth whether it's to a vehicle, a portable speaker, or to headphones. Its the nature of bluetooth.

For me though the bluetooth audio quality is typically more than sufficient and the convenience gained trumps the slight quality loss. YMMV.

We use the same adapter. We keep it plugged into the charge port, inside the center console.

Using a double USB adapter is the most helpful IMO. Plugging it into the actual USB Port cuts off my music on spotify so that's a no go lol.

@J Bumble Are you answering the iphone from the phone? When you do that it goes to handset mode; it's intended that way so you can pick up a call on handset when using bluetooth speakers.

To pick up on the truck's handsfree system answer from the steering wheel controls.

It's good. Mine grabs the USB plug more than the 12V socket so it's a pain to unplug stuff, but not a big deal since I use it infrequently.

    Nice!

I have been using my USB to charge my iPhone, but it occurred to me that if I got an adapter for that instead that I could plug in a 64GB micro-USB with pretty much my entire music collection on it.

Charging via the USB port isn't that great in my experience. I'd suggest a nice Aukey or Anker car charger from Amazon.

Anybody out there thinking about shit canning their iPhone?

I have an old legacy unlimited data plan through AT&T and they keep raising my monthly fee from $75/month to $85/month over the past two years. I only need one line. The only deals I see are $50/month per phone for 4 lines.

Any body else planning to switch to flip phone? Or is there a better deal on unlimited data plans? Is Android a better deal?

Thanks in advance for any suggestions.

You're going to switch to a flip phone to keep unlimited data?

I dropped unlimited years ago. Knew my usage and have never gone over on the metered plan. Also saved a crapton of $$$. AT&T is paying for most of my iphone7 via monthly rebate offering the Next payment.

Great ideas for charging iPhones here. I didn't know some of these options existed.

No...switch to flip phone and drop unlimited altogether. I used to use my phone way more. I guess it's the thought of AT&T constantly going up after years of being at $70-$75 per month. $85 per month seems to be my breaking point. :frusty:

@InfernoTonka I don't claim to know your plan, mines been static for the four years I've had it. Got out of the subsidIzed contract stuff and just buy phones outright or do 0% Next financing.

Base charge for shared data plus $15 per each of four lines (plus almost $5/line taxes). Only changes when someone finances a new phone.

Scoshe magnetic mount above the left center vent and iPhone plugged into the 12 volt charger. It charges faster than the USB.

Doesn't matter if you're on Android or Apple iOS, the cell company is charging you for data, it's how companies push people out of their unlimited old plans into new ones. I had one line for ever and found $75 was about the lowest I could get it unless I added people to my plan. I'm sure a ton has changed since I last researched that but that's irrelevant. Rates don't vary based on whether its Apple or Android operating system.
