The iPhone won't run on the LTE network. You'll need a new version of the phone for that.
    http://venturebeat.com/2011/01/11/it-could-be-2012-before-lte-4g-verizon-iphone-arrives/

    They're capping usage as well:
    http://www.investorplace.com/30167/verizons-vz-iphone-data-cap-debut/

AT&T is also coming out with an LTE network:
    http://venturebeat.com/2011/01/05/att-4g-lte-mid-2011/

I'd wait to see how it pans out. I know that for AT&T, 65% of all their network traffic is frpm the iPhone alone.

I'll be sitting back and watching...... and reading feedback & such over the next several months from the Verizon iphone users.

Can't go wrong with what you're happy with. I hope those who switched are happy and get the coverage & phone they can enjoy!

That may be true for you, but I have att & verizon and the same phone, and right now there is no possible way that verizon is faster. Its actually impossible because the chipset in the iphone 4 uses the current verizon 3g network not the lte network. Any speed test done so far by the engineers on both sides is showing att 60% faster up and 40% faster down.

HOWEVER when they do make the switch and in the iphone 5 have lte up and going it will far outperform any carrier in the usa.

I have only been on verizon now for a day, and all I have to say is I am so far super happy. Not only do I get reception, but it works. My att phone got amazingly fast internet in about 4 areas of town.... other wise its useless. Now I have a phone that gets fast internet, and great callq uality anywhere i go!

    THANK VERIZON

Well I just saw a commercial about an hour back saying that AT&T is now offering the iPhone for $49 with a new contract. So it seems they are worried about losing people to Verizon.

I went to Sprint to get the EVO and the unlimited plan for $69...Sprint sucks major ass! I hate them! I lose reception EVERYWHERE! And I was told that leaves on trees could be causing it. I live in f*#king El Paso, Tx! What trees!? haha!

So, unfortunately, I will probably be going back to Verizon soon and pay extra for every little thing. But, I think I will stick with Android.

The $49 phone is the 3Gs iPhone.

My 3G is jailbroken and running on T-mobile. Works for me. Cheaper than AT&T and T-mobiles Edge is faster than AT&Ts 3G. Just my $.02

I've NEVER had any problem with AT&T. That might be because I hardly ever talk on my iPhone, but I've never had a dropped. Plus, their customer service is top-notch, they were able to walk my mom through setting up her iPhone. And I'll be damned if that's not impressive

I've been a Verizon customer for a while now. Happy with the service; don't care too much about the customer service--90% of what you need can be dealt with on-line.

I do a lot of motorcycle touring and the thing that I love about VZ is I can pretty much talk where ever. Previous AT&T and Sprint phones, not so much so.

Trying to decide about the iPhone. I have a crackberry now and it would be a step up but the cost of admission is pretty high. I think I'll wait and see if they offer their customers anything in the way of an incentive.

    Staying with AT&T

I think the competition is good and hope it drives my payment down.

Verizon coverage a lot worse then AT&T in my area, my friends with it have to go outside my house and stand on one foot to make a call where I have a full signal inside. Plus AT&T is a faster network!! when you have it which luckily for my is everywhere in my county. If I lived somewhere else where coverage was different I might change never know. I think the competition is good and

I went from Verison to At&t when the iphone 4 came out and I am so glad to be out of my verison contract. I jumped ship 3 months early so I had to pay the cancellation fee. I think if signal is bad for at&t in your area, and you know verison is good. Then by all means switch. But if you are looking for miracle network with no dropped calls, perfect reception, no overage charges, and cheap plans... then look elsewhere from verison. In northern florida to atlanta area coverage is approximately the same. Once everyone goes to verison there will be a huge thing about at&t being better and everyone will go at&t. I forget what the cycle is called in economics and marketing, but buyers will never be happy with their products. Grass is always greener :)

all the major networks are about the same speed depending on your area regardless of 3g or 4g or 10g. Check out speedtest records.

I spent 3 months with AT&T customer service, talking every month to get my bill right, I have "everyhting" with them, Home phone, Cell, internet, directv.
And I have been a cell customer since 2000 when it was the old at&t. I went through the merge "Cingular" anyway, just tired to be with a company for so long, you get soo much stuff being a new customer, so may be, I'll be a whore and change providers every 2 years. I don't care about the latest units. I'm set with my iphone 3G, I can care less for a 4G, as long as the unit is new and it works, I'm happy..

For now I'll stay with AT&T. I have never dropped a call in the two years I've had the phone. The only place in these two years that I had service issues is the four times I have been to Yosemite. My wife has a Droid on Verizon and she had phone service but no internet service in the park. As I understand it the phone will not multi-task on the Verizon network.

So if that's the case then AT&T edge is the same speed as 3G? I had the original iPhone, 3G, and now the 4. Each phone has been faster for data. There is no possible way edge is the same speed. If that were the case there would be no point in upgrading networks. You check the speeds it gets faster. Now Tmobile is totally lying about there 4g. It's actually an accelerated 3G which AT&T has now. It's not a true LTE 4g but they think they can get away with it by calling it 4g.
