Hey guys, does anyone have issues playing music through USB? I used to play Spotify and all other music just fine through USB before I got my iPhone X... Now when i try, it won’t let me play anything... I used to have the issue before and unplugging/plugging it back in usually did it. But now it won’t play music at all! I’m on iOS 11.3.1 and the latest version of Enshit (Entune)

Just go through Bluetooth. My iPhone 6 gets funky sometimes but I’ll jist plug it in to the charger and go through Bluetooth. Works great

I know, it’s what I’ve been doing... I hate the way music sounds through Bluetooth tho. There’s a 1/2 second lag in Bluetooth that i hate and also music sounds much more clearer through USB. I’m an audio freak and frankly, I shouldn’t have to inconvenience myself because Toyota fails to do the simplest of things in the infotainment section...

Put your music on an iPod then. I leave mine in the center cubby for just that. 4000 songs by just plugging it in

No problem with my iPhone X. I hate using Bluetooth as well, for the reasons you listed.

A buddy had an issue with a different phone, had to have at least one song downloaded on the phone for music via usb to work (even f you were playing Spotify or whatnot).

I have an X, but I don't use spotify so I cant say for sure why you might be having an issue but I can try to give you some help.
Try turning off Bluetooth on your I phone so it only should work via usb. Another thing you can try is to unpair your I phone and repair it. Sometimes after software updates things gets a little weird.

I hate Bluetooth! I had found everything 100% better when I turned off Bluetooth and starting using USB only from my iPhone X. Works great and no lag.

OS update 11.4.1 has been out, try updating your phone first. Also try closing all apps first then run Spotify only in case another app is hogging the audio output. Then do a reset on your entine head unit in case the last phone’s data is on there and confusing the head unit because the phone’s name might be the same as your old one.

The lag is only obvious when you’re watching movies... music alone... you can’t tell. What are you guys doing while driving?!

That’s what Bluetooth does; there’s an audio lag when coupled with video.

I have the iPhone X with the latest OS and latest Unshit and it's been working fine the whole time I've had it. But again, completely disabling Bluetooth helped avoid confusion.

I just tested again on my truck, no luck. It shows the song info on the head unit but plays no sound. And when I go to my phone via the source menu, it says "no compatible songs available." I am on iOS12, but it did this back on a stable release of iOS 11 as well.
