Stereo setup is DNX6990HD with Kenwood iPod cable, + Satillite radio, everything else is factory.

The issue is i can no longer control the iPod Via the head unit. it says "disconnected"

While connected and set on the iPod setting, i can play the iPod's music through the head unit if using the iPod itself only. BUT it is not charging the iPod.

if i disconnect the Kenwood iPod cable and connect an Apple iPod cable to the USB port(extension wire off the back of the head unit) i am then able to control the iPod from the head unit but no sound is heard.

any ideas? it worked fine before and then just started with this issue.

Maybe give Kenwood a call? I had a similar issue with Alpine, called them and it was a common problem they had. They sent me a patch cable that fixed it. No charge.

    Hi Eric,

I am looking at getting the same model (DNX6990HD), first of all how happy are you with it?

My 2011 Tacoma has built in Backup Camera and Sat radio, do you know if you can redirect the existing backup camera and Sat radio to the Kenwood?
